Predictions, props and tips for Champions League action featuring Manchester United at PSG and bonus picks for Porto vs Roma.

UEFA Champions League Preview

The first two teams to punch their tickets into the Champions League quarter-finals took place on Tuesday night, with three-time defending champs Real Madrid falling short of a fourth consecutive title, as Ajax stunned Los Blancos on their home pitch.

Tottenham also ended Dortmund's dream of a three-goal turnaround with Harry Kane's crucial away goal. The Premier League side showed their real class, decisively eliminating the faltering German squad.

Wednesday's card offers plenty of intrigue, with four more top clubs ready to earn their spots in the quarter-finals next month, we should expect another set of pulsating events.

The main attraction on Wednesday's card takes center stage in France's capital city. The country's top team welcomes England's most revered club, with the Parisians hopeful they can complete the task they started in Manchester a fortnight ago.

PSG are a true championship or bust side and after several years of flaming out in the quarter-finals, the Paris outfit feels they are finally ready to make a deep run in Europe's top tournament.

Thomas Tuchel is the next manager in line to help lead the Ligue One side to a UEFA title. Tuchel's predecessors experienced a high level of success domestically, but each was unable to accomplish the team's ultimate goal.

Tuchel's True Genius

The German manager's job was made even more difficult with both Neymar and Edinson Cavani picking up injuries before the start of the round of 16. The South American combination combined for two-thirds of the team's goals and assists, leaving a significant void at the top of the PSG front-line.

Tuchel surprised many with his ability to overcome the team's devastating injury news, inserting both Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler into more prominent roles, which paid off with a convincing 0-2 victory against the Red Devil's on match-day one.

The Paris head-man then placed his all-world forward Kylian Mpabbe in the dedicated number-nine role, unleashing the French phenom on his English opponent's. Mpabbe has become the team's main danger-man within the Parisian's plan of attack, using his blistering pace to put defender's in vulnerable positions. The World Cup winner should be in store for another big day when Manchester United comes to town.

The French-men were just as impressive of the defensive side of the ball, squeezing the life out of Man-United's prolific attack, keeping the Red Devils off the scoreboard for the first time under their new regime.

PSG are in a dominant position to close out this series. With no first leg team ever reversing a 0-2 score-line, the hosts feel confident they can close this matchup out.

Manchester United have their work cut out for them as they set down at Parc des Princes, after failing to take advantage of their time at Old Trafford, the Red Devils need to play a perfect match to pull the ultimate shocker.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has solidified himself as the front-runner to land the United job at the end of the season, after taking over for Jose Mourinho in December. The "Baby Faced-Assasin" has led his former side to an overall record of 13-2-1, with his only blemish coming to this same PSG side two weeks ago.

Man-United's Mash Unit

The visitors start the match-day with as many as ten players unavailable for action, with Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Matteo Darmian, Nemanja Matic, Anthony Martial, and Jesse Lingard all suffering from the injury bug, while Paul Pogba picked up a red card during the first leg, spoiling the Frenchman's return home with a suspension.

Solskjaer must now be creative in his team selection, changing from his standard 4-3-3 formation to a 4-2-3-1, Romelu Lukaku will get the rare opportunity to lead the Red Devils front-line.

The Belgium striker has found consistent minutes a challenge under his new manager's tactical vision, once the teams central trigger-man under Mourinho, Lukaku has been the forgotten man during Man-United's recent run of form.

Marcus Rashford will be available for duty. The young English-man has been a bright light since Solskjaer's arrival, rewarding his new manager with six goals, and two assists since inserting him into a permanent role. Rashford tends to save his best performances for big events, using his ability to create space and launch accurate shots on goal, placing PSG in a problematic position to mark the talented trigger-man.

The EPL representatives will have the reassurance of a world-class goalkeeper on their side. David De Gea has long been considered one of the best at his craft, his incredible shot blocking abilities have earned him high praise internationally, giving the Red Devils plenty of confidence with the Spaniard in between the sticks.

PSG vs. Manchester United - Match Prediction

Match-day one between these two European giants proved to be less competitive than many had hoped. With the public jumping on Manchester United to defeat the Parisians, the French outfit proved to be on a different level by the end of 90 minutes.

PSG will undoubtedly want to close the deal sooner than possible against the English giants. Tuchel's men have been a dominant force while on their home pitch, scoring an average of 3.5 goals during their last ten Champions League matches while at the Le Parc des Princes.

Team Prop
PSG - Team Total Over 2  -125 / 1.8 - Goals

The hosts are certain to play with a more aggressive style of play during matchday two, after conceding possession for much of the match their last time out. The Parisian's should be anxious to attack the Red Devil's revamped midfield and exploit the visitors down the wings, where they have a decided advantage each time they push forward in attack.

Manchester United has their backs against the wall, needing a minimum of two goals to make this contest interesting, the Red Devils should be playing right into PSG's hands.

The English-men will have no other option than to push for goals, setting themselves up for a quick counter-attacking strike, with Mbappe the leading figure to find the back of the net in such situation.

The Red Devils will take pride in the fact they have scored in all 20 away matches this season, and are averaging 2.5 goals away from Old Trafford since making the change on the sidelines, while PSG has failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 Champions League fixtures.

Despite United's improvements on the road, I still expect a dominant performance from PSG in this particular matchup. The Parisians seem destined to put this match away early, placing an early goal on the board as they take the lead into halftime, where they will eventually separate themselves in the second half, winning by a multi-goal advantage.
