Las Vegas land-based operation Treasure Island Hotel and Casino has struck a deal with Miomni Gaming to begin offering a mobile sports betting service to its customers in the US state of Nevada.

The 'TI Mobile Sports' application will allow players to undertake activities such as placing bets, as well as checking lines and account balances.

Users must register in-person at the Treasure Island land-based site before being able to use the new service.

The app is available to download to both iOS and Android mobile devices.

"We continually evolve our race and sports book to bring the latest in technology to our customers," Treasure Island's race and sports book director Tony Nevill said.

"With mobile usage dominating the marketplace, creating an app was the obvious next step.

"Now, even when a guest can't be present in our race and sports book, they can still participate in real time, real money sports wagering in Nevada."

Mike Venner, chief executive of Miomni Gaming, added: "Utilising our built-in geo location technology and the ability for our middleware platform to cache live gaming data, it delivers an extremely fast and efficient service to any internet-based device.

"Our expertise in great UI and the ability to distribute live data feeds and video delivers a cutting edge betting experience for Treasure Island customers."
