Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has announced that Edward Traynor is to replace Jack Massey as its director of investor relations and company secretary.

Massey will step down from his role at Paddy Power having spent a total of nine years with the bookmaker, a period in which he also served as chief financial officer from 2006 until 2012.

Paddy Power said that Massey had opted to leave the company in order to pursue other academic, personal and business interests.

Traynor, incoming group general counsel, will take on the role of director of investor relations and company secretary following the conclusion of the bookmaker's Annual General Meeting on May 14.

Paddy Power noted that Ivan Kelly, who currently serves as investor relations analysis manager, will remain on its investor relations team under chief financial officer Cormack McCarthy.

"We will be sorry to see Jack go in August. He has made a major contribution throughout his time with the group, including as chief financial officer from 2006 to 2012," McCarthy said.

"I'd like to thank him and wish him well in his future plans."
