Can the Seattle Seahawks dominate the line of scrimmage without workhorse back Marshawn Lynch? We find out as the 'Hawks play host to the Detroit Lions on Monday night.

The Detroit Lions seem to have all of these offensive weapons, yet they are 0-3 to start this NFL season. One has to wonder whether CenturyLink Field in Seattle is the right place to get well. On Monday night the Lions will have the opportunity to go up against a Seattle Seahawks squad that will be without its star running back in a game that will get underway at 8:30 PM ET. Here's the exciting part - during the game itself, BetAnySports customers have an opportunity to make wagers on the side, total and various props by way of the facilities of Live Betting Extra.

The Seahawks, wNFL betting Seahawksho lost their first two games (to the St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers on the road), did what they were supposed to do last week, as they shut out a Chicago Bears team that had to go with Jimmy Clausen at quarterback, and was without their leading receiver, Alshon Jeffery.

As far as the level of firepower across the line of scrimmage from them, the Seattle defense is looking at a whole different challenge here. Detroit has a quarterback in Matthew Stafford who is more than capable of carving up a secondary if he can get enough time; Calvin Johnson may not be as good as he was before his injury problems last year, but he is still extremely viable, and Golden Tate is very familiar to the Seahawks.

In the Monday night football odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Seahawks are a big favorite:

Seattle Seahawks -10
Detroit Lions +10

Over 43 points -110
Under 43 points -110

There has been some uncertainty regarding the status of running back Marshawn Lynch, and the latest word is that he is not going to play, but virtue of a change on the team's injury report that had him shifted from the "questionable" category to "out." He did not start last week's game, as his hamstring was bothering him, and even though he eventually got into the game, he isn't 100% or close to it. Lynch is not even the leading rusher for this team; that distinction belongs to Russell Wilson, who is averaging 5.7 yards a pop. But the interesting thing is that Lynch only has fourteen more carries than Wilson.

Monday Night Football oddsAnd there is gossip about how much Lynch really has left. They have put a lot of wear and tear on him, haven't they? Well, as BetAnySports patrons are well aware, the bottom line with a running game is being able to open up some holes, and they got the job done last week for rookie Thomas Rawls, who ran for 104 yards against Chicago. The Seahawks also have Fred Jackson, who can run or catch and still has something left in the tank, despite what the Buffalo Bills thought. So they aren't in such bad shape.

In fact, they may be better off in their ground game than Detroit, which hasn't gotten what they have expected out of Ameer Abdullah, who has contributed just 82 yards, and less than three yards a carry if you take out the 24-yard TD run he had in the opener. As far as being able to STOP the run, it must be counted as a surprise that the Lions, without Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley, have held the opposition to 3.7 yards a carry. But the consensus is that they are vulnerable.

No, Lynch's absence won't make the difference here.
