As FanDuel and DraftKings gear up for a court hearing on Thanksgiving Eve, some high-powered attorneys have been enlisted to aid in the fight against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Schneiderman's attempt to halt DraftKings and FanDuel games comes to a head on Wednesday at New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. Ever since New York's top lawyer launched an investigation into the two companies — and started a crusade to classify fantasy sports wagers as gambling and not games of skill — the situation has escalated. First, DraftKings and FanDuel were sued for alleged fraud and then Schneiderman followed Nevada's lead, issuing a cease and desist order. Last week, Schneiderman took things even further as he's reportedly subpoenaed Yahoo! Inc. for information about its fantasy sports business.

New York-based FanDuel and Boston-based DraftKings are not remaining quiet. The unicorns — known for their billion-dollar valuations— lawyered up and fired back with their own legal actions. First, they sought a court order to block Schneiderman so they can continue operating in New York. Even though a judge then denied those requests, a growing team of legal help remains involved, including David Boies, a New Yorker known as former Vice President Al Gore's lead counsel in Bush vs. Gore, the U.S. Supreme Court case that stopped the Florida vote recount in 2000 and gave the presidential election to George W. Bush.

A 45-page memo was filed with the court on behalf of DraftKings by Manhattan law firms Boies Schiller & Flexner and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. That memo is below. And here's a look at the legal teams of both sides. FanDuel's advisers include:
Marc Zwillinger, of ZwillGen PLLC, is a former U.S. Justice Department official and one the foremost experts on internet security law
Michael Mukasey, a former U.S. Attorney General, is currently with Debevoise & Plimpton and was asked to review FanDuel's policies and standards
Michael Garcia, a former Manhattan U.S. Attorney, is currently with Kirkland & Ellis and has been tasked with forming a new internal advisory board
