European Football Weekend Preview

The European competitions resume play after a pulsating day one to start another round of top flight football, this weekend is packed with intense match ups throughout all the top leagues, with the English Premier League taking many of the headlines with the famous North London Derby set to play out to at the famed Wembley Stadium, the remaining card still holds tons of value for those true investors who have done their research for the upcoming events.

The North London Derby part 2 is set to open up Match Day 26 in the prestigious Premier League, the EPL has centered it's weekly marketing around this particular match with intentions of seeing a superb event, with a laundry list of story lines the importance of this game cannot be understated with each club looking to crack the top 4 in the league, Champions League qualification is now the prize for the remaining big six clubs in the Premiership with Man City having already run away with the title.

Arsenal make the short trek to Wembley Stadium full of confidence, coming off a 5-1 annihilation of Everton on Match Day 25, the Gunners are convinced their winter transfer moves will be enough to get them back in the race for European glory.

The Arsenal head man is now content on taking the second leg in this famed North London Derby and moving up the table, after grabbing 2 late first half goals at the Emirates to grab a 2-0 winner against the Spurs on Match Day 12, Wenger believes he has the formula to take all 3 points and bragging rights back against this Tottenham squad.

Arsenal are set to field the strongest line up possible, while playing within a 4-2-3-1 formation with their new toy Aubameyang holding the title as Center Forward in this potent attack, the Gabonese International has already shown he can flourish with the quality of service provided by the likes of Mesut Özil and his former Black and Yellow teammate Mkhitaryan.

Batman is sure to be heavily involved in his first official Derby between these two storied clubs,  Aubameyang's skill set is more than just as of a striker with his world class hold up ability, and keen eye for making the right pass when defenses collapses upon him, with 23 Goals and 3 Assists totaled in all competitions, the new Arsenal purchase will surely show his world class abilities against the stern Spurs back-line.

Mauricio Pochettino continues to be one of the more over hyped managers in the English top flight table, the Argentine head man has brought stability to the Spurs organization, but the lack of any trophies won during his tenure is a bit alarming with the amount of talent possessed within his squad.

Pochettino did lead his squad to a less than convincing FA Cup win during the midweek, after a replay was required with lower league participant Newport County, his attention is now turned to a Arsenal team whom have found renewed vigor among their squad, the Tottenham head man is in a must win situation to start Match Day 26 at Wembley.

Tottenham much like the Gunners have preferred a classic 4-2-3-1 formation, with their own all world class Center Forward Harry Kane taking the spotlight at the top of the Spurs front-line, the England International has been on a different level than any other striker in the EPL, his offensive game is basically flawless with the ability to finish in many different ways, his long range accuracy in uncanny which forces defenders to come out further allowing for more space in the final third for his teammates to get better shots on goal.

Kane is absolutely majestic in counter attacking situations, and add in when provided service within the box as he can finish with both feet and has a deadly aerial game to boot, with 33 Goals scored in all competitions, the clear danger man will garner the majority of the attention in Arsenals preparation of slowing Spurs down.

Tottenham have been in great form while at Wembley, posting double figures in 5 of their last 6 fixtures on their own pitch, while scoring an average of 2.2 Goals in their last 13 Premier League home games.

The Spurs defense has answered all the questions asked, keeping 5 cleans sheets while conceding an average of 0.7 Goals per match in their last 13 Premier League home games.

Prediction:

Arsenal have had their struggles away from home this season, especially against the fellow big six clubs were they have failed miserably to pick up a win away from the Emirates, while Spurs have grown into their surroundings going undefeated in their last 12 Home EPL matches after early struggles in the famed Stadium.

This match-up has been fairly tight over the past few years, with the home sides splitting wins in the last two fixtures, by a score-line of 2-0, I would expect the same type of contest when these two storied clubs meet for the second time this season.

There will be key factors to watch for  when these two clubs take to the pitch together, Tottenham will want to run any chance they can get as they are dominant in a Counter Attacking style of play, where Arsenal have struggled to contain clubs who present that certain type of danger, I would expect Spurs to get on the score board through this method of play especially with GK Petr Cech questionable for this Derby after picking up a knock against Everton.

Arsenal one the other hand will be more methodical in their approach, with stylish build up play you will see the Gunners creating several chances on Goal, as before mentioned I am expecting the guests to at least grab 1 goal back with their new found attacking options placed in their front-line.
