Preview and predictions for Sunday EPL action as Newcastle welcomes Chelsea and bonus EPL tips for Fulham vs. Burnley.

English Premier League - Match Week Three Tips

Sunday the EPL rolls on with a modified schedule, after match day one lived up to it's hefty expectations, the remaining clubs have lofty standards, in order to match the same type of performances that were on display to kick off match week three.

The opening contest on the docket might be the best of the day, as undefeated Watford welcomes Crystal Place to Vicarage Road. The Hornets will attempt to keep their perfect record in tact, against a Eagles squad who are coming off a tough 0-2 loss to Liverpool on Monday, and should be motivated to put that result behind them sooner than later.

New Boys Fulham are also in action on Sunday, after failing to record a single point in their return too the Premier League, the Cottagers get a weary Burnley team in town, who are fresh off mid-week Europa League action, and could make changes to their normal starting eleven.

The first two matches of the day certainly offer interesting Investment options, but the main fixture of the card presides in Newcastle, where the Magpies will host one of my early season dark-horses to contend for a league title in Chelsea, who have excelled through this point in the season.

Chelsea have been a "Jekyll and Hyde" type of club over the past several years, the Londoners have a habit of winning the domestic title, and then flopping the season after, which generally leads too their managers being sacked.

The past two seasons have been a roller coaster ride for this proud club, with Antonio Conte being inserted before the start of the 2016-2017 campaign, in which the Italian led the Blues to the top of the EPL, in just his first spell in English football. Conte followed that up with a nightmare Sophomore stint on the sidelines, that ultimately led to the charismatic head-man being sacked shortly after the end of last season.

The Blues were often rumored to be in communication with many of the largest names in the managerial ranks, but soon settled on former Napoli man Maurizio Sarri, who himself had fell out of favor with his club as well. Sarri is known for having an attacking flare, with his Napoli sides routinely scoring multiple goals per match, and providing the only form of a challenge to Juventus in Serie A

SarrI introduced his potent 4-3-3 formation upon arriving to Stamford Bridge, placing the talented three-man front-line of Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and 'Pedro' in favorable positions, who have responded in a overwhelming manner. Chelsea have been restricted from being a true attacking side over the past two seasons, under Conte they were more of a defensive oriented unit, looking to absorb pressure and then punish their opponents on the counter attack, but Sarri understood when he took this position, he had just they type of players he needed in order to run his system too perfection.

The Italian task-master is also utilizing the overall skills of World Cup winner N'Golo Kanté, moving the French-man in a more forward position, which allows for another threat in front of goal, which has already paid dividends, while Kanté is arguably still the best defensive midfielder in the world.

The Londoners also made a few key Summer signings too help solidify the full roster, with 'Jorginho' following Sarri from South Italy, he has been handed the creative midfielder responsibilites, which he is already excelling at with his unbelievable passing skills, and overall awareness on the pitch, that allows others to succeed while in the attacking half of the pitch, his influence on each match is considerably noticeable, and sky's the limit on how far he can grow his overall game.

Chelsea did sell off one of their main-stays, as GK - Thibaut Courtois was sold to Real Madrid, and in return the Blues invested in former Athletic Bilbao prodigy 'Kepa' Arrizabalaga, who has had mixed returns upon his arrival to West London, but he has shown glimpses of brilliance, as he settles into the role as the number one keeper for the English giants.

Newcastle enter Sunday's contest struggling to remove themselves from the bottom half of the table, after only picking up one point through their first two matches, the Magpies will now face their second big six club in the first three weeks of the season, and hope to have a better result in front of the "Toon Army".

The storied English club are in their second season back in the Premier League, after being relegated due too a poor performance in 2016-2017, the Magpies did just enough to ensure safety for another spell in England's top flight league.

Legendary manager Rafa Benitez has done an outstanding job during his time in Northern England, after winning a Champions League title with Liverpool in the late 2000's, the Spaniard returned too the region, to take on the challenge of delivering trophies to this historic club.

The Magpies are less pleasing to watch than their star-studded challengers, often lacking possession of the ball, Newcastle will still create their fare share of opportunities on goal, primarily from long range out, and especially through set-piece situations, where they feel most confident in hitting the back of the net.

The home side generally run out a 4-4-1-1 formation, under Benitez he asks his side to put in a work-man like shift each time they step onto the pitch, generally complicating matters for their opponents, and disallowing any type of cohesion for extended periods of time.

Newcastle will be missing a key figure in their starting eleven, with 'Kennedy' being ineligible to participate against his parent side in Chelsea, leaving a void in the creative department, as the Brazilian has continued to impress during his loan spell, making this match that much more difficult for the less talented home side.

Rafa will look too 'Joselu' and Ayoze Pérez to provide a spark in Kennedy's absence, the Newcastle danger-men have been in fine form, and even through they have failed to convert on all the chances they have been presented with, they still possess enough quality to change the reflection of a match in a moments notice.

Newcastle vs Chelsea - Match Prediction

The Blues will travel north with a bit of revenge in mind, Chelsea were embarrassed on the final match day last season, with Newcastle posting a 3-0 score-line, and driving the final stake in the Londoner's chances of a top four finish.

Chelsea will also take too the pitch in prime form, already scoring six goals within Sarri's plan of action, there seems to be no signs of this squad being slowed down. Newcastle will still put up a stubborn resistance, but I still anticipate the visitors getting a minimum of two goals in their ever growing season tally.

The Blue's should come out attacking early and often, looking too grab an early advantage, and then gradually adding onto their lead, while collecting three more points in their rejuvenation campaign.
