England Premier League - Match Week Nine Finale

The Premier League rolls out another Monday match special, after a weekend full of excitement, the top league in the world gives it's viewers one last fixture too wrap up week nine in the EPL.

The weekend saw Manchester City widen their overall lead on the Premier League table, after completing a 5-0 thrashing of Burnley, the Citizens have separated themselves by a 10 goal differential over Liverpool.

Chelsea started the match-day by dropping points to a dysfunctional Manchester United squad, leaving them in 3rd place, while Tottenham slipped by West Ham in their annual London Derby, placing them in the 4th spot for now. Arsenal will start the match-day in a position to leap-frog their fellow North London rivals, with a victory on Monday, they can finally claim a spot back in the top four of the Premiership.

Arsenal have rebounded nicely from a early 0-0-2 start to their new campaign, now currently 6-0-2, the Gunners have an opportunity to grab 4th place, and re-solidify themselves as a true threat for the league title.

Unai Emery was brought into succeed team legend Arsene Wenger, and after a slow start to the season, he seems to have found the correct alignment, and rotation of players to continue Arsenal's winning tradition. The Spaniard has helped lead his side too 9 straight victories in all competitions, now with their 10th straight win in-sight, the Gunners new head-man should have his troops highly motivated to continue their quest for overall dominance.

The Londoner's will also have added confidence as the Foxes come too town, Arsenal have held Leicester City win-less on their own pitch since 1973, making this a one-sided affair for the past 45 years.

Emery is scheduled to once again send out a strong starting eleven on Monday, even with European obligations later this week, the 3 time Europa League winner feels confident he can navigate the schedule, based on his experiences of playing on multiple fronts, and a squad full of talented players who are anxious to prove their overall worth.

The Gunners have benefited greatly based out of Emery's 4-2-3-1 formation, with both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang answering any questions many had leading into the new campaign, this explosive pairing have combined for 8 goals and 3 assists, ending any doubt these two danger-men could co-exist while on the pitch at the same time.

Mesut Özil is also slated to make his return to the starting line-up, after back spasms kept him out of Arsenal's demolition of fellow London side Fulham, the German play-maker should be a welcomed addition too this already fluent attack. Özil provides a skilled hold-up game, allowing him to use his world-class passing skills to find open runners in the attacking half of the pitch, delighting his extraordinary tally's-men, who are always anxious to produce a moment of genius.

Arsenal will have a few players that are major doubts to enter Monday's contest, with back-line member Sokratis picking up a knock during International duty, and GK - Petr Cech still attempting to recover from a previous injury he sustained weeks before. Their veteran presences on the back-end will always be missed, but the hosts should have enough quality depth, to fill their roles if called upon.

Leicester City travel south too the capital city, hopeful to reverse their well documented misfortunes in North London. The Foxes did grab a victory against the Gunners in their last meeting, snapping a 13 game slide, giving them hope they can leave the Emirates with positive points.

Leicester's side-line leader Claude Puel enters Monday's match under a cloud off scrutiny, the French-man has had success during his time with the 2015-2016 EPL champs, but taking this side too the next level has been an issue, with inconsistency being his main challenge.

The visitors currently occupy 10th place in the Premier League table, holders of an overall record of 4-0-4 and 12 points, the Foxes could jump as high as 8th place with a victory, while removing the hex held over this club for the past four decades.

Puel much like Emery favors a 4-2-3-1 shape, with English international Jamie Vardy the traditional number-nine atop the Foxes front-line. Vardy has had success facing the Gunners in the past, scoring 5 total goals against Arsenal over the previous three years, and placing 2 goals in the back of the net on opening day last season. The veteran trigger-man still posses a great amount of pace to challenge defenders, as he is always looking to get out and run on the counter-attack, with a clear nose for goal, Emery knows he can change the outcome of a match in moments notice.

The Foxes have also introduced a true star within their midfield. James Maddison made his way to Leicester over the Summer in a large money move, settling right into the Foxes number ten-role. The young starlet is electric with the ball at his feet, able to create space and involve others with a variety of passing skills, while also keeping defenses honest with his long range shooting abilities, already accounting for 3 Goals and 2 Assists in his freshman campaign, sky's the limit for this must watch sensation.

Leicester City will make the trip without the presence of their experienced Captain, with Wes Morgan serving a two-match ban, the Foxes will lean on the center-back pairing of Jonny Evans, and Harry Maguire to help contain this suddenly dangerous Arsenal attack. The tandem are above average defenders in their own right, and with the stability of long-time GK - Kasper Schmeichel still in goal, the guests feel they have a fighting chance to keep this fixture close.

Arsenal vs Leicester City - Match Prediction

Arsenal have clearly been dominant in this series, winning their last 8 home fixtures against the Northern side, while posting a minimum of 2 Goals over that span, as the Total has eclipsed 2.5 Goals in 7 of those 8 meetings.

Leicester City have been more competitive over the past few seasons, and must be satisfied with their recent run of form away from the King Power, scoring at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches, they understand they must find the back of the net when matched up with these English giants.

Monday's match should see the Gunners controlling much of the ball for extended periods of time, even though Leicester have improved on their overall possession ratio, Arsenal will still spend a majority of the match in the Foxes side of the pitch. Even with the home side being the aggressor, I would still anticipate Leicester City being dangerous when they get their own chances on goal, the visitors have shown they only need a few quality looks to keep a match tight, and are in a prime goal scoring form.

This Premier League finale should be closer than many might expect, with Both Teams getting on the score-sheet by the end of 90 plus minutes, as the EPL wraps up another exhilarating week of action.
