The Bruins of UCLA will have to avoid complacency as they get ready to face the lowly Oregon State Beavers in a Pac 12 game for Sunday.

To say that the Oregon State Beavers are running cold right now would be a vast understatement. They have lost 12 games in a row, all of which have come within the Pac 12 Conference, and they have not been in a position where they can stop anybody on defense. Therefore, on the surface it would seem too tall a task to compete with the UCLA Bruins, who play host to them on Sunday at Pauley Pavilion. Fox Sports 1 will televise this game, and BetAnySports patrons will have the opportunity to take advantage of Live Betting Ultra to make wagers in real-time.

These teams have actually met before – on December 30, as UCLA scored a 76-63 victory in Corvallis. In that game, OSU hit seven out of 14 triples, but the trick is not necessarily to make shots, but to prevent their opposition from making them. The last five opponents Oregon State has faced have shot about 50% from the field. And it just so happens that UCLA is perhaps the best shooting team in the nation.

UCLA Basketball previewThe Bruins are 22-3 straight-up and 13-12 against the basketball pointspread. They are ranked ninth in the nation in the Coaches poll and 10th by the Associated Press. Oregon State is 4-21 straight-up and 8-15 ATS. And as we mentioned, they have yet to register a conference win.

In the college basketball betting odds posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, UCLA is a runaway favorite:

UCLA Bruins -25.5
Oregon State Beavers +25.5

Over 156 points -110
Under 156 points -110

UCLA is not only first in the nation in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency, according to the analytics site KenPom.com, they are also the best team in the country shooting three-pointers (42.2%) and second-best with two-pointers (60.3%). So that doesn't sound like a winning formula for a team that can't play defense. The Bruins have that fabulous freshman combination of 6-6 point guard Lonzo Ball and 6-10 forward TJ Leaf. Both of these players are extremely versatile, and can beat you in a number of different ways. Case in point – Ball, who averages 7.6 assists, had only one assist against Oregon last time out, but he hit big shots late and wound up not only with 15 points but also eleven rebounds. If you have been following the news lately, you know that his brother scored 92 points in a recent high school game, so that may be one future Bruin to worry about. Ball is most likely a one-and-done player, and the same might be said for Leaf, who, like Ball, is among the top 35 in the nation in Offensive Rating and hits 45% from three-point range.

BetAnySports customers know that Oregon State has been without perhaps its best player, Tres Tinkle, who is out with a wrist injury. After him, there are not a whole lot of offensive options, although there is some hope in freshman guard Jaquori McLaughlin, who may, in this game, set the all-time freshman record for three-pointers at OSU.

Oregon State is having a very difficult time staying within shouting distance; they lost 92-66 to USC the other night, and they have been "road worriers," to say the least, with just a 10-22 ATS record in their last 32 as a visitor. This season they are allowing 49% shooting on the road. And on offense only four teams in the country have turned the ball over with more frequency than they have (23.3% of all possessions). The only thing, seemingly, that would prevent UCLA from winning and covering in this one is that they may be a little hung over from their huge victory the other night against Oregon, in which they came back from a 19-point deficit.
