Can the Houston Rockets get it together to win Game 3 of the West finals after having lost in such disappointing fashion in the first two games in Oakland?

After going down 2-0 in their conference championship series against the Golden State Warriors, BetAnySports customers have to be wondering about the mindset of the Houston Rockets right now. This is a team that rolled over twice at the Staples Center against the Los Angeles Clippers in the previous playoff series, but then came back in that historic Game 6 comeback that really took the spirit away from the Clippers. They have been tough as nails in the first two games here, falling short but only after a valiant effort to make up late deficits. They could very easily have won the first two games, and that is the kind of thing that could give them some confidence as they go into a pair of games at the friendly Toyota Center.

Game time on Saturday night's 9 PM ET, and BetAnySports has a number of great options to wager on before the game, and then after the game tips off, customers can wager on the side, total and various props through the facilities of Live Betting Extra.

It's been a pretty good series for Steph Curry thus far, as the league's MVP scored 34 points in Game 1 and then added 33 in Game 2. The extra attention he has grabbed has benefited Golden State frontline workers, as might be expected from someone who is hitting 60.5% of his shots. But one guy who has not gotten a residual boost from it is his fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, who has hit only two out of his 14 attempts from beyond the arc. One would imagine he could heat things up sooner or later.

Golden State was a double-digit favorite at home in the first two games. In this one, not so much, as we can see from a quick look at the numbers posted by BetAnySports:

Golden State Warriors -1
Houston Rockets +1

Over 214.5 points -110
Under 214.5 points -110

James Harden was the runner-up in the MVP voting, and he seems to be going for a dual with Curry at the moment. Harden was just sensational in Game 1, and he almost got a triple-double again in Game 2, scoring 38 points and hitting exactly the same percentage from the field as his rival (13-21). Harden try to turn this into a happy ending for the Rockets on the final sequence, as he took down a rebound with nine seconds left and went all the way down the court; well, not quite, although that was the intention. Harden gave the ball up to Dwight Howard and then got it back, only to be stopped by Curry as he lost the ball. That was all she wrote, as Houston lost by a point.

As BetAnySports patrons understand it, Kevin McHale, in explaining why a timeout was not called, said that he saw Draymond Green on the ground and another Golden State player out of bounds when Harden grabbed the rebound, and decided to take his chances. You can't really fault him for that.

So where do they go from here? The Rockets had to be encouraged by what they got out of Dwight Howard, especially since there was some doubt as to whether he was even to start again. But he did, and had 17 rebounds, effectively preventing Golden State from muscling the Rockets in the post area. Houston went to a strategy of switching on defense in order to prevent confusion for themselves on that end, and although there are some pros and cons to that approach, they did hold the Warriors to just 63 points over the last three quarters. The ball movement will continue; of Golden State 41 field goals on the evening, 31 came by way of assists. And there doesn't seem to be a lot of "hacking" going on, as these teams combined for only 32 free throws, ten of them by Harden. Considering that the Rockets, in just one game during this post-season run, had 64 free throws all by themselves, you can see that there are not a lot of stoppages to add to the point total. That is something to consider when examining the basketball odds on this game from an over/under standpoint.
