Week 10 NFL Survivor Picks

An inside look at our Week 10 picks for the Jazz Sports NFL Survivor contest.

Week 10 Pick in the Jazz Survivor Contest

We've managed to make it to Week 10, which is a good run for any Survivor Pool participant, but this week could be ugly. With the Chiefs, Dolphins and Eagles all on a bye and our previous use of the Cowboys, it's time for NFL Survivor pool participants who are still alive to use some picks that will probably make us sweat this Sunday. Week 10 survivor pickAs the pools start to dwindle due to upsets, making the right choice is critical. We have used up the Ravens, Cowboys, Chiefs, Vikings, Dolphins, Rams, Seahawks, Lions and last week, the Browns to sit at 9-0 with our NFL Survivor Picks in the Jazz Sports contest. We are looking at two lesser teams this week and both are in a great spot to win and keep us rolling deeper into the contest.

The Top Contenders

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-7)

The Cincinnati Bengals are hosting the Houston Texans, who feature rookie sensation quarterback CJ Stroud. The Bengals are 3-1 at home and have won four straight.

Cincinnati Bengals week 10 survivor pickThe Bengals are playing the best football of t the season right now and are one of the leagues hottest teams. A healthy Joe Burrow is the main reason why. in the four wins Burrow's thrown for 1133 yards, 10 TDs vs two INTs while completing 75.7% of his passes. But he could be looking for targets with Tee Higgins expected to be out with a hamstring injury and Ja'Marr Chase not at 100%.

Enough about Burrow and the Cincy offense, the one NFL quarterback everyone is talking about is CJ Stroud. Right now he's the overwhelming favorite at -150 at the top online sportsbooks to be to NFL Rookie of the Year and rightfully so. Stroud has thrown for 2,270 yards, fired 14 TDs to just one INT and has a passer rating over 100. The Texans are relevant because of this rookie. Oh, and, he's off a career game vs the Buccaneers where he threw for 470 yards and four touchdowns. But the Bengals defense is not the Bucs. Over the last three games, their D has given up just 16 PPG, good for fifth-best in the league.

The Bengals have looked dominating over the last two weeks beating the Bills and Niners handily. The oddsmakers are telling us something and this line has risen from it's opening total. We'll roll the dice a bit with Cincinnati this week.

Indianapolis Colts (-2) vs. New England Patriots (from Germany)

The easiest pick of the week is the Dallas Cowboys who are favored by a whopping 17.5 points at Jazz Sports over the hapless, quarterback-less NY Giants. But, we used them way back in Week 2 to keep rolling early. So, we are stuck looking at Pittsburgh (-3) at home vs Green Bay, Saints on the road at Minnesota or the game we are settling on for our backup Survivor Pick - Indy vs New England from Germany. Uggh.

Let's face it, this may well be Bill Belichick's worst season as head coach of the Patriots. It certainly does not look like Mac Jones is the QB of the future in New England and with a ton of injuries in the receiving corps, he's down to Ju Ju, Jalen Reagor and a handful of no-names. They’ have only managed more than 20 points in one game this season and haven’t been able to stop most offenses. Plus, we wanna see The Stash in Frankfort! Gardner Minshew can manage the game by handing the ball off to Jonathan Taylor and Zack Moss. The Germans will view the game more like a rugby match and back the Colts too.

Making the Decision

Based what teams we have left that aren't on a bye or in a bad matchup, the Cincinnati Bengals emerge as my top pick for Week 10 in Jazz Sports NFL survivor pool. the teams is on a good run and is playing at the top of their game. The secret is out on CJ Stroud and we expect the Bengals D, at home, to be up to the task. Though we would have loved to use the Cowboys this week, I'm happy to have held the Bengals until now as they have righted the ship and look more like the Super Bowl team they hope to be in 2023.

Survivor pools are all about making calculated choices, and looking back maybe we should have saved the Cowboys. But who knew the Giants were going to be so bad, plus, division games are always a little tougher to call. We've been playing against the Cardinals a bit all season and with the way the Pats have bee playing, we may eye them as a target in the coming weeks.
