Betting tips and predictions for Giants at Vikings and Raiders at Steelers

My partner on one of this week's Winners Circle NFL videos, Doug Upstone and I take a look at the week 16 NFL card and talk handicapping strategy in the weather predicted for the northwest and midwest this weekend. In addition, we make predictions for the New York at Minnesota and the Raiders, in sub-zero wind chills, at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Read below and watch the video for some NFL betting advice for Saturday.

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers Preview and Pick

Saturday, 12/17 at 8:15 PM ET
Current Line: Pittsburgh 12.5, Total 37.5 at BetOnline

The weather is going to be a factor in many games this weekend, and this game in Pittsburgh is no exception. Negative wind chills are predicted at game time and this is a matchup that features a cold weather team vs. a warm weather one.

Raiders Steelers free pickLooking inside the numbers , the Steelers are just 6-9 in the standings, but they have gone 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four non-division games. The Raiders' QB, Derek Carr, is just 19-29 ATS on the road since 2018.

Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett is expected to return to the starting lineup and the Raiders are finally at full strength, as well. The Steelers celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The Immaculate Reception" on Saturday night in what should be an emotional home game, as the Steelers also honor late NFL legend Franco Harris.

I am going to play the moneyline in this game and take the Steelers at -135 to win SU. However, if this number runs up above the current price, I would have no problem laying up to 3 points on Pittsburgh.

New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings Preview
Saturday, 12/17 at 1 PM ET
Current Line: Minnesota -4, Total 50 at MyBookie

Many fans and bettors think that both of these teams are over rated and Doug agrees. Minnesota has a 10-3 record, but a point differential of just two. The 8-5-1 Giants are even worse, with a negative differential of -25 points! This puts the G-Men more in the company of the Falcons and Saints than the teams who are in the playoff picture.

The current point spread at the top online sportsbooks is Minnesota -4. Factoring in the home team advantage of U.S. Bank Stadium dome, and this game is nearly a pick 'em. There's jut not much here.
