Jared Goff will have pressure on him, with a surgically-repaired thumb and less backup this Saturday against the top-seeded Green Bay Packers.

By far the biggest question mark surrounding the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs has involved the injury situation for Jared Goff. The former #1 overall pick in the draft knows how to run head coach Sean McVay's offense, which is predicated on play-action.

During the regular season, he attempted more play-action passes than any other quarterback in the league, so not having him around would make a big difference in terms of how this scheme is run. Well, at least that's what we think.

So what's going to happen with him in Saturday's playoff game against the Green Bay Packers? BetAnySports customers will make a judgment about that by way of a prop that is available for wagering - one of many, many props that are offered on all of these NFL playoff games.

Here is the number on Jared Goff's passing yards in this game:

Under 215.5 Yards -135
Over 215.5 Yards +105

You have to wonder how the Rams' game last week might have gone had Goff not played at all. And it is possible he may not have played if John Wolford, his inexperienced backup, hadn't sustained a neck injury. When you get into the playoffs, it's all hands on deck. So when you're not starting Goff and going instead with a guy who had only one starting assignment in his pro career, you know it's serious business.

And that "serious business" was the broken thumb Goff suffered against San Francisco, which required surgery. I don't know about you, but my experience is that generally, those things take a while to recover from. So let's conclude that he went in last week's game before he was actually ready to. Luckily the Rams were able to stifle Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, and they were able to win the battle at the line of scrimmage by running the ball successfully.

Goff attempted 19 passes and completed only nine. Who knows if the Rams would have been able to advance had Goff been required to do more.

Since they know he's not 100%, the Rams are going to do everything possible to make sure Goff doesn't have to carry as much of a burden.

They'll run it if they can, and hope that Goff can throw off the play-action. I don't have a lot of confidence that he is going to produce numbers. Who knows if he will even make it through the whole game. Blake Bortles is a backup with playoff experience who know the system the Rams run. So McVay could turn to him if things aren't working out.

It's not so much that the Packers have an outstanding defense, but they may be good enough to neutralize much of what Los Angeles intends to do on the offensive end. And then, well, you might have to take that weather into account. It's possible you'll be looking at freezing temperatures. I don't believe that's going to make it easier for a guy with a thumb that was recently repaired surgically.

And it will affect direct snaps center. When I originally considered what a prop like this would look like, I was thinking maybe 179.5 yards. But this number is too high. Let's go UNDER, even at the price.
