The Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers have both lost four out of their last five, and they meet on Sunday in Nashville.

I like following the Los Angeles Chargers. They are the most interesting franchise to me, because they are the closest thing the NFL has to a homeless team. The reason for that, of course, is that they are utterly greedy, as they left a place they had been for over fifty years for something they thought would be a little more lucrative.

And it's not even their own home; they will be the second-class citizens at the new stadium in Inglewood, which the Rams more or less control. For now, they are in Carson, at the smallest ballpark in the league, where they should have a legion of fans in an intimate atmosphere. Instead, they seem to attract fans of their opponents. Wasn't it heartwarming to hear Devlin Hodges, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in last week's game, thank the Steeler fans in attendance, who appeared to be in the majority?

They simply aren't loved in friendly environs. And they won't be loved in the near future either.

Chargers Titans free pickAnd is it any wonder why the Bolts sometimes feel more at home than on the road? Having said that, don't short-change them as they roll into Nashville on Sunday as they face off against the Tennessee Titans. Game time is 4:05 PM ET at Nissan Stadium.

Here are the numbers on this game. And they are infused with reduced juice, which enables you to avoid having to lay the customary -110 on football action:

Tennessee Titans -2.5 (-115)
Los Angeles Chargers +2.5 (+105)

Over 42.5 points (-103)
Under 42.5 points (-107)

The Chargers have been listless in the last two games, and they sometimes looked half asleep when they beat Miami. So this begs the question, "Is that all there is?" Not to use this as an excuse, but the Bolts have been banged up practically from the beginning. After all, they have been without Derwin James and will continue to be. They will likely be without Melvin Ingram this week.

Tennessee Titans free playAnd of course, Melvin Gordon was holding out for a better deal, which he didn't get. He's rushed for 49 yards in 20 carries since returning. So he is probably due to make a contribution, and if he does, he will combine with Austin Ekeler (42 receptions) to give L.A. (I'm still getting used to saying that) something interesting in the backfield.

Tennessee has scored a grand total of seven points the last two games. Marcus Mariota still has a higher passer rating than Philip Rivers, but he was just seven of 18 for 63 yards last week and was intercepted twice. As a result, he was benched in favor of Ryan Tannehill, and now the Heisman Trophy winner is in danger of spending the rest of his career as a backup.

The Titans are converting just 29.5% of their third downs, and they have not been able to protect the passer, whoever that might be, as they have surrendered 29 sacks. And that is almost inconceivable with tackles like Jack Conklin and Taylor Lewan available.

At the outset, we alluded to the Chargers perhaps enjoying the road a little more. In point of fact, they have covered eight of their last nine in the regular season when they get outside of Los Angeles County. And we have seen this team get off to quick starts before, only to gather some momentum and make strides as the season progresses. At least you can say that they have outgained the opposition. They have the best quarterback on the field as well as the best receiver (Keenan Allen). We're moving with them.
