Thursday Night Week 9 NFL Free Pick

A look at the Thursday Night NFL matchup between Philly and Houston, if you can really call it a matchup.

Week 9 - Thursday Night Appetizer

The Philadelphia Eagles have flown down to Houston and should be back with a win by 1:00 AM. The game on paper sounds easy to believe and pick, so let's take a deeper look.

TNF free pick predictonThe Eagles have scored 196 points and are undefeated. The Texans have scored 116 points, which leads the league in the lowest amount of points scored and they have one lone win, but they do have a tie. The Eagles are the #2 power ranked team by ESPN and Houston is, you guessed it, last.

Brandin Cooks is out tonight with hurt feelings and a bruised ego. No one will pay him 18 million for next year and he is upset.  With B. Cooks out, their offense ranked 32nd, things just got worse. The Eagles get to show the world how good they are on national TV.

The betting line is a staggering 13.5. We hate the line, but the matchup is clearly not a match up. The Eagles are flexing their muscle and this week the Texans without Cooks will pay the price. You can buy the game down to 12.5 and play them to win.

The Eagles are huge favorites for Thursday Night Football at reduced-juice leader BetAnySports:

Philadelphia Eagles -13.5 (-110)
Houston Texans      +13.5 (-110)
Over/Under 45 points

Players who are looking for a better line and some action, can always play a teaser of Philadelphia and KC on a 7point teaser, and buy a point.

You wind up laying -140 but have Philadelphia -6.5 and KC –5.5 to win 100. We are not a fan of teasers, but those odds are juicy. We picked KC as the other team because the rest of the good teams are off or on the road. Miami, Buffalo, Minnesota, Seattle and Baltimore are all on the road. Let's look at and angry, perfect Eagles, and KC after a bye. Since Andy Reid arrived in KC, he is 7-1 after a bye and his only loss was back in 2017 with Alex Smith at QB.
