Possibility for an unprecedented finish to OSGA tourney challenge

Upsets and the surprising run by South Carolina make it nearly impossible to predict who will win the OSGA contest after Monday night’s National Championship game.

There were some big upsets in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds causing the leaderboard for the 2017 OSGA NCAA Tournament Challenge to change every day over the weekend. The upsets and surprising run by South Carolina make it nearly impossible to predict who will win the contest after Monday night’s National Championship game.

Heading into the Final Four ‘danishwop’ leads the pack with 85 points and three or the four teams still alive in his bracket. Three other players are tied for 2nd place with 84 points but only ‘blanda’ has his pick, Gonzaga, alive for the tourney winner.

In all 31 players picked North Carolina, the current favorite to become champion (+143 at BetDSI). 20 players have Gonazaga, one player has Oregon and no one saw South Carolina in the Cinderella role. Should the Gamecocks win the National Championship, it will be the first time in the 16 year history of the OSGA NCAA Tourney Challenge that the contest winner will not have the correct tourney winner selected. Should Oregon win it all, ‘djobie1’ will win the contest. Contestants can head to the contest page and click on Reports>Tournament Scenarios for some insight as to whether they have a chance.

Even with some huge upsets last weekend nearly two-thirds of the brackets have picked winners at a 60% or better pace. There are a handful of players that still have a chance at winning the grand prize of $250 ($500 for OSGA Members) and with the top 10 places all getting prizes, there is almost an unlimited number of players that can cash in.

Best of luck to everyone with their pools and Final Four wagering!
