February 5, 2009, 7:23 pmThis year’s Super Bowl Contest was a raging success for OSGA but not so much for its members, as again this year a non-member won the grand prize. The contest featured four prop bets that had to be guessed correctly. Then the payers had to pick the correct score of the game. Out of over 1100 entries only 92 contestants played all four of the prop bets correctly. The strangest thing was that only 1 of these 92 players picked the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the Big Game!!
So, out of all of the entries only one player had a shot to win as the clock expired. Andy K was identified as the winner with a final score of Pittsburgh 28 – Arizona 17.
Congratulations to Andy K!!
The contest featured a $200 prize for first place to OSGA members. Non-members were awarded half or $100 and Andy K will get a check from OSGA for $100. Second place went to Oscar T who also correctly identified the four props and came the closest to the actual score but had the wrong winner. Oscar is entitled to a FREE $50 Bet at YouWager. In addition, this year every player who got all four prop bets correct will be entitled to a Free $25 wager at an OSGA Elite-rated sportsbook
The four props were:
1) Team to commit the first turnover (Pittsburgh Steelers)
2) Total Pass completions by both teams (Over 41 – acutally 51)
3) Most Rushing Yards (Parker by 20 over James)
4) Total Quarterback Sacks (Under 5.5 – actually 4)
