This is a busy time of year at the Off Shore Gaming Association. Hundreds of emails and phone calls have been streaming in regarding the Big Game. We have everyone ready for Sunday with two FREE Super Bowl opportunities – the “Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest” and the OSGA Super Bowl Prop Report. In addition, OSGA members get an extra bonus.
In recent years many online sportsbooks have put up 300 or more of propositional bets on the Super Bowl. You can wager before the game, on the coin flip, right up until the final gun on individual player props and game props. We have created a FREE guide to prop betting in a downloadable format to print and keep. The OSGA Super Bowl Prop Report includes props from two sportsbooks, contest information and some Super Bowl wagering tips. Prop bets on the big game can be quite fun, but don’t over do it. Download the guide here.
This year we are also offering a “Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest” for all OSGA visitors. Simply pick the winners of four prop bets and then the winner and correct score of the Super Bowl. As a tie-breaker you will also have to choose the number of first downs the winning team has in the completed in the Big Game.
PRIZE: The winner of the Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest will receive CASH. This contest features a Top Prize of $100 and a runner-up prize of a Free $25 Bet at a participating sportsbook. This contest is for both OSGA members and non-members. Non-members will only be eligible for half of the winning prize or $50. Enter the Free Contest here.
Finally, for OSGA Members only, we have teamed with BetJamaica to offer a Super Bowl Squares contest. Each OSGA member who has wagered at least $100 at Bet Jamaica this season is eligible for a free $10 Super Bowl Square. OSGA Members are urged to send an email as follows before 11.59AM EST on Feb 2 to osga@osga.com: Subject: Free Super Bowl Square

Today BookMaker.com announced its acquisition of BetMaker.com. Betmaker had moved into the same office building as CRIS, Bookmaker and Diamond several years ago. Last year the book was moved into the CRIS portfolio with the gaming giant providing all services. This move eliminates the brand of Betmaker and consolidates 2 books under Bookmaker.com.
Betmaker has been around since the mid-nineties and was one of the first books to realize that doing real customer service could set their book apart from the pack. Many of the early managers and employees at Betmaker are still working throughout the industry in Costa Rica. Though we are sad to see a name that was synonymous with customer service and fair play, it is easy to see why upper management decided to consolidate the brands. The reduced overhead and additional customer base essentially makes Bookmaker an even stronger out.
BetMaker players can login to BookMaker.com using their BetMaker username and password. All player balances are 100% secured with no rollover requirements or restrictions. Any existing open wagers will also be transferred and honored at BookMaker.com.
Please post your comments below or email us at osga@osga.com with any specific inquiries.

Not Just Yet. In the latest episode of the BETonSPORTS saga, an update from Vantis shows that things are moving forward. The liquidators confirmed to us that they have contacted all players who had email addresses listed with any of the betting brands under the BETonSPORTS betting umbrella. However, one problem the company has found - over 20,000 emails were returned as undelivered. Vantis will be resending the note to players who bounced or have not responded within the next two weeks.
We continue to hear from players who have not yet heard from Vantis at all and from gamblers who had accounts at multiple betting brands under the BOS label. In addition, many BETonSPORTS players had accounts at sportsbooks that were purchased in recent years by the former gaming giant. We have heard from hundreds of players have not received correspondence regarding ALL of their accounts.
Regarding players with multiple accounts…
“If players with second accounts have not received a second email they should log into their first account and forward details of their second account by using the ‘contact’ tab. We will then contact them advising how they can verify their second account,” a representative informed us.
For those players who have not yet been contacted keep your eye out for an email or a piece of US mail, outlining the next steps to take. At worst, Vantis plans to put up a questionairre on the website that they have setup - https://betonsports.vantisplc.com. Check back for this contact form after the Super Bowl.

Yesterday, the OSGA Bowl Schedule identified the Biggest upset of Bowl season - Michigan was named the Upset Special by the editors of the annual OSGA Bowl Schedule.
The schedule is updated daily with odds and scores. After each game the closing consensus line and the final score are posted. The final holiday weekend of ‘07 including yesterday’s games went especially well for the editors. Their notes, hand-picked from Marc Lawrence’s Bowl Stat Report, went 9-6 over the weekend with one push and two straight up dogs as winners - the Michigan upset in the Capital One Bowl and Oregon, a 5.5 point underdog in the Sun Bowl.
In addition, the annual OSGA BCS Contest is closed after 2200 College football enthusiasts entered. This is the second largest field to enter this simple contest. So far every entry had USC in the Rose Bowl (not a suprise - an easy pick to win SU as the 13 point favorite). Favorites were the winners again and over 65% of the entries had Georgia in last night’s Sugar Bowl. Still, with such a simple contest, everyone is basically alive until the weekend. Good Luck in tonight’s fiesta Bowl where contest entries show an 80% lean for Oklahoma - currently a 7 point favorite.
The final segment of the OSGA/BetJamaica Pick 15 contest was won by Lucky Matt. Lucky Matt will receive the $100 prize from OSGA. Stay tuned for our annual March Madness contest and Super Bowl Squares contests…..
Finally, we would like to congratulate seadog from Medford, MA. Seadog was the OSGA member selected to receive the last piece of Authentic Autographed Sports Memorabilia from 2007 – an Autographed Tony Romo 8×10 photo with a fantastic Dallas Cowboys plaque. The monthly drawing is a random selection pulled from all annual OSGA members. We start off 2008 with a bang as the January memorabilia drawing will feature last year’s Super Bowl winner - a Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts Autographed 8×10 Photograph.
