Yesterday, the OSGA Bowl Schedule identified the Biggest upset of Bowl season – Michigan was named the Upset Special by the editors of the annual OSGA Bowl Schedule.
The schedule is updated daily with odds and scores. After each game the closing consensus line and the final score are posted. The final holiday weekend of ’07 including yesterday’s games went especially well for the editors. Their notes, hand-picked from Marc Lawrence’s Bowl Stat Report, went 9-6 over the weekend with one push and two straight up dogs as winners – the Michigan upset in the Capital One Bowl and Oregon, a 5.5 point underdog in the Sun Bowl.
In addition, the annual OSGA BCS Contest is closed after 2200 College football enthusiasts entered. This is the second largest field to enter this simple contest. So far every entry had USC in the Rose Bowl (not a suprise – an easy pick to win SU as the 13 point favorite). Favorites were the winners again and over 65% of the entries had Georgia in last night’s Sugar Bowl. Still, with such a simple contest, everyone is basically alive until the weekend. Good Luck in tonight’s fiesta Bowl where contest entries show an 80% lean for Oklahoma – currently a 7 point favorite.
The final segment of the OSGA/BetJamaica Pick 15 contest was won by Lucky Matt. Lucky Matt will receive the $100 prize from OSGA. Stay tuned for our annual March Madness contest and Super Bowl Squares contests…..
Finally, we would like to congratulate seadog from Medford, MA. Seadog was the OSGA member selected to receive the last piece of Authentic Autographed Sports Memorabilia from 2007 – an Autographed Tony Romo 8×10 photo with a fantastic Dallas Cowboys plaque. The monthly drawing is a random selection pulled from all annual OSGA members. We start off 2008 with a bang as the January memorabilia drawing will feature last year’s Super Bowl winner – a Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts Autographed 8×10 Photograph. January 4, 2008, 4:11 pmTwo underdogs in this week’s BCS matchups have whittled the inital field of 2200 in our annual BCS Bowl Contest down to under 100 players. The Fiesta Bowl upset by West Virginia knocked out over 80% of the field and the rest almost went down after last night’s Kansas shocker.
Good luck to all 98 players who remain. They are split almost 50%-50% on Ohio State and LSU…….
Even in a contest this simple – it may come down to the tie breaker – first downs by the winning team.

January 8, 2008, 11:51 amCongratulations to Ralphie! He had the winning contest entry in the 2007 OSGA BCS Contest. The Contest was open to the general public but OSGA members were eligible to receive double the contest grand prize of $100. Ralphie is a member and thus is entitled to the full prize of $200. With over 2200 entries this years contest was a huge success and it came down to the final game…….
Ralphie had the closest score picking LSU as the winner: LSU 35 Ohio State 27. The odd thing was that in all but seven entries the total would have gone under….. The most common end result was 21-17 Ohio State!
The next closest score in the BCS Championship game was entered by a non-member: LSU 28 Ohio State 24. This contestant will be contacted via email to collect the Free $25 Bet from one of our participating sportsbooks.
Thanks to everyone who played and keep your eye out for our Super Bowl and March Madness contests!
