Last night’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game was a foul-plagued mess that went right down to the final minute. Now, it is time to crown the winner of the 2017 OSGA NCAA Tournament Challenge.

‘Danishwop’ held the lead once Villanova and Duke went down and further cemented that lead when Kansas was eliminated in the Elite 8. But, the leaderboard flipped greatly last night after North Carolina got their ‘Redemption’. ‘BillChris′ finished in 1st place with 147 points to take the Grand Prize of $500 courtesy of OSGA. ‘BillChris’ has been an OSGA Member for several years and he was able to become the first Champion of an OSGA contest who is also a member. We are very glad to see that a member finally won the Grand Prize!

31 players picked North Carolina in the contest and 20 had Gonzaga heading into the championship. The Tar Heels were the favorite pick and the Bulldogs were the #4 selection. Because so many players picked North Carolina as their champion, every player who cashed in for a prize had the correct tournament winner. Gonzaga players all finished out of the money.

‘da gators′ missed winning the grand prize by four points, finishing second with 143 points to collect the $150 non-member prize. ‘Patriots13′ had 141 points to take the 3rd place prize of a $100. The fourth place prize of $75 went to ‘billyborou′, who had 140 points, as he had the tie breaker, which was the total score of the final game. ‘billyborou′, was pretty smart and went with a VERY low score (82) to insure falling below the final total. Unfortunately, ‘All9moo’ had 162, going over, but still collected the prize for 5th place, claiming $100 as a member of OSGA.

Places 6 through 10 are all eligible for a Free $25 VISA gift card. ‘miles’ came in 6th place with 136 points. ‘KJohnson’ took 7th place, ‘Money’ and ‘8550937’ tied for 8th with 129 points and both players went over the final total. Long time OSGA contest participant and member ‘hoopster57’ rounded out the prize winners with 128 points and 10th place. To view the complete standings click here

This was the 16th year for the OSGA NCAA Basketball Challenge and again this year the standings flipped and flopped from day-to-day and even game-to-game. We enjoy bringing these contests to everyone, but we would especially like to congratulate three of our members who received 2X prizes as a benefit of OSGA membership.
