The Big Game is over, well, the season is over and so is our 7th annual Super Easy, Super Bowl Contest. The contest consisted of selecting four prop bets and the winner and correct score of the Super Bowl. As a tie-breaker players had to choose the number of first downs for the Super Bowl Winner. This year’s contest was a rousing success with over 100 participants vying for the cash prize and was just the second year that the winner had to be determined by the tie-breaker.

We had to invoke the tie-breaker because the 2012 Super Bowl generated the most players ever who got all four Prop bets correct. The Patriots committed the first turnover, the Giants’ Ahmad Bradshaw easily outgained BenJarvus Green-Ellis and both of the ‘over/under’ props went over. The next and usually deciding factor was picking the score of the game. The rules state that the closest to the score for each team, and having the right team as the winner, would take the grand prize of $100 cash ($200 if the winner was an OSGA Member). But, every single contestant who had the four prop bets right, went over the total of 38, many of them WAY over! Thus, the tie-breaker was put into play.

Again most players were way off on the number of first downs by the winning team, but two players were right there. The Giants had 26 first downs and JohnB was on-target with 25. But, JamieK, a fixture at many OSGA contests, hit the number right on the head – 26. Thus, JamieK, who recently cashed for 4th place in the 2011 Progressive Pick ‘Em, won the 2012 OSGA Super Easy, Super Bowl Contest. Congratulations JamieK! And congrats to JohnB as well. In all, 13 players had all four prop bets correct. However, we strive to give our Members MORE, so there was only a prize for any active OSGA member who got these four plays correct.
