OSGA Announces Winners of 2015 College Football Bowl Bonanza

After 32 games Against the Spread, the OSGA College Bowl Bonanza came down to the points in the NCAA Championship to claim the Grand Prize of $500!

Congratulations to ‘tropicalsports’, the winner of the 2015-2016 OSGA College Bowl Bonanza! ‘tropicalsports’ beat out nearly 150 other players by picking an amazing 23 out of 32 College Bowl games correctly, against the spread! He hit at an unreal win percentage of 72%. However, two other players also picked 23 games correctly! So we had to go to the tie-breaker, the total number of points in the College Football Championship. When the explosion of points in the second half ballooned the total to 85, it really came down to who picked the highest total. ‘tropicalsports’ had 53, giving him the win and the Grand Prize of $500 cash, courtesy of OSGA. ‘titusott’ had a total of 47 giving him the second place honors and $250. And ‘scotlad219’ ended up in third with a total of 38 and $200 in prize money.

“It’s hard to believe that after 32 games Against the Spread that it all came down to the points in the NCAA Championship,” said OSGA President Jim Quinn. “And really it came down to the 2nd half, any one of these three players could have taken the Grand Prize with a 14-14 halftime score.”

Now in it’s 13th year the OSGA College Bowl Bonanza features great players. In all, nearly a third of the field picked college bowl games at better than 60%! And again this year the contest was using the point spread, adjusted prior to the start of the contest to ½ points to avoid pushes.

Two other players tied for fourth place. Yes, really tied, both having the total set for the Championship at 51. Perhaps we should get an actuary to figure out the odds of that happening. ‘ltmoore’ and tammy2037’ had 22 wins and thus split the 4th and 5th place prizes. Each of them will take home $75 for their outstanding efforts.

Thank you to everyone who participated in another great free contest from OSGA. Check back with OSGA for more free contests, including the Super Easy, Super Bowl Contest and Members-Only Super Bowl Squares contest.
