This is a busy time of year at the Off Shore Gaming Association. Hundreds of emails and phone calls have been streaming in regarding the Big Game. We have everyone ready for Sunday with two FREE Super Bowl opportunities – the “Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest†and the OSGA Super Bowl Prop Report. In addition, OSGA members get an extra bonus.
In recent years many online sportsbooks have put up 300 or more of propositional bets on the Super Bowl. You can wager before the game, on the coin flip, right up until the final gun on individual player props and game props. We have created a FREE guide to prop betting in a downloadable format to print and keep. The OSGA Super Bowl Prop Report includes props from two sportsbooks, contest information and some Super Bowl wagering tips. Prop bets on the big game can be quite fun, but don’t over do it.
This year we are also offering a “Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest” for all OSGA visitors. Simply pick the winners of four prop bets and then the winner and correct score of the Super Bowl. As a tie-breaker you will also have to choose the number of first downs the winning team has in the completed in the Big Game.
PRIZE: The winner of the Super Simple, Super Bowl Contest will receive CASH. This contest features a Top Prize of $100 and a runner-up prize of a Free $25 Bet at a participating sportsbook. This contest is for both OSGA members and non-members. Non-members will only be eligible for half of the winning prize or $50.
Finally, for OSGA Members only, we have teamed with BetJamaica to offer a Super Bowl Squares contest. Each OSGA member who has wagered at least $100 at Bet Jamaica this season is eligible for a free $10 Super Bowl Square. OSGA Members are urged to send an email as follows before 11.59AM EST on Feb 2 to osga@osga.com: Subject: Free Super Bowl Square

2) Have you made a deposit to BetJamaica in 2008?

February 5, 2008, 1:23 pmThis year’s Super Bowl Contest was another raging success for OSGA and its members. The contest featured four prop bets that had to be guessed correctly. Then the payers had to pick the correct score of the game. Out of over 1300 entries only 137 contestants played all four of the prop bets correctly. The strangest thing was that none of these 137 players picked the NY Giants to win the Big Game!!
This is the first time that we have run a contest where the winning selection did not pick the winning team of the final game. Thus, we had to go to a formula using variance from final game score. Stewart Y was identified as getting closest to the final score with a total variance of 20 points.
Congratulations to Stewart Y!!
The contest featured a $100 prize for first place to OSGA members. Non-members were awarded half or $50 and Stewart Y will get a check from OSGA for $50. Second place went to Bob B who also correctly identified the four props and came within a few points of the winning entry. Bob is entitled to a FREE $25 Bet at BetJamaica.
