This is crazy, crazy, crazy: David ”Zanderfish” Saab, an Australian poker pro with $50,000 in tournament wins in the month of  January alone, was hauled in front of a judge alongside two cohorts to be formally accused of multiple cocaine trafficking offenses. Saab, alongside Darren Hughes and Robert Remeeus, are known members of a group called “The Saab Squad” and they were in front of a judge because of a charge stemming from the discovery of 22 kilos of high-grade coke worth about $4,000,000 AUD.  The drugs were hidden inside of machine parts shipped from Vancouver, CA to Melbourne, where Customs and Border Patrol officers allowed the SAAB Squad to pick up the drugs and deliver them to a centralized location before making arrests.

Sources state that there are strong ties being formed between Australia’s organized crime networks and Colombia’s FARC rebels. The FARC are responsible for producing most of the world’s cocaine.

Two players you never heard of got coverage in the Orlando Sentinel and once you hear their sweet story, you won’t want to blame the paper at all for covering it. Jeff Zuckerman, 62 and his wife Patty Kruger Zuckerman, 62 met and fell in love at the poker tables at the Isle Casino and Racing venue in Pompano Beach. Longtime bachelor Jeff had moved to the area in 2005 after managing an accounting department in New York. Patty, a local whose real estate career was in its twilight had actually been engaged when she was 24, but the sudden death of her fiancé caused her to wall off the world.

But every Friday morning, the two shared a low-stakes poker table with a group of other players and went to lunch with the gang after. It took some prodding from the others, but they went out on June 28, 2009 and three weeks later they were engaged. A mere four months after that, the duo were married on The Enchantment of the Seas, a Royal Canadian cruise ship that operates out of the area. Before the wedding, the courthouse clerk kept asking if both of them had really made it that long without having been married previously.

Last year, they spent Valentine’s Day playing poker with their friends.  This year, they’re helping out with two charities they’ve been supporting, "But we'll catch up in the evening, and, anyway, to us every day is Valentine's Day," Patty said.
