The University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) has advanced its expansion towards the latest innovation in online gambling and sports betting. The university just added another primary sponsor to one of its programs, which will create job opportunities and an enabling environment for betting operators.

UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law announced a scheduled online training program for stakeholders in the sports betting and gambling industry. The programs will address lawyers, service providers, operators, and regulators.

UNLV’s International Gaming Institute (IGI) is at the forefront to provide cutting-edge insights to online gambling based on research and education programs. Former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval once described the institute as the worldwide intellectual capital of iGaming.

Other notable initiatives housed by the institute include the International Center for Gaming Regulation, sponsored by DraftKings. IGI dates back to 25 years ago.

GVC Foundation Sponsors the Online Training Program

The classes are funded by the GVC foundation and will likely commence early next year, in the first and second quarters. The sponsorship is worth $256,000 and looks forward to preparing stakeholders on how to navigate the USA’s changing gambling landscape.

It is important to note that more states are beginning to launch initiatives that will see regulated sports betting permitted in the coming years. For instance, everyone is keeping a close watch on Maryland, South Dakota, and Louisiana.

Courses Sponsored by the GVC Foundation

The newly-inked deal will see the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law offer up to eight online classes. Anyone from the industry is eligible for enrollment. Nevertheless, some of the notable courses that will be offered at the faculty include Introduction to Gaming Operations, which will be lectured by Uri Clinton. Clinton is an experienced stakeholder in the gambling and sports betting industry as he recently served in a managerial capacity at the New York MGM Empire City Casino. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer.

Anthony Cabot will lecture Introduction to Gaming Law and Regulation. Anthony Cabot is a distinguished lecturer for Gaming Law at the same faculty. Nelle Levitt and Keith Mille will join hands to teach the Legal and Operational Environment for Sports Betting. Levitt is a visiting law professor at the institution and previously lectured at Drake Law School in Iowa. Another course to be offered is the Public Policy and Comparative Study of Gaming Laws and Regulations, instructed by Simon Planzer of Switzerland’s University of St. Gallen.

The institution plans to roll out an extensive course on Player Accountability and Corporate Social Responsibility in Gaming Law. Dayvid Figler and Alan Feldman will instruct this course. Alan Feldman previously worked at the International Gaming Institute, while Figler is an expert in criminal justice, with relation to Gaming Law.

The Center for Gaming Innovations

As noted, DraftKings recently joined the Center for Gaming Innovations as a primary sponsor. The Center for Gaming Innovations draws back to 2013 and has since realized at least eight commercial games and nine patents. The partnership is expected to culminate in a next-generation technology that will redefine the online gambling landscape. However, DraftKings also gained access to the campus as some of its branding and logos will be displayed.
