Brandon Allen and Mike Glennon will start at quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively, in the NFL for Sunday afternoon.

The New York Giants are still in the NFC East race. In fact, they might be in a tie for the lead at the end of Sunday's action.

We take a look at their game, against a Cincinnati team that has to replace Joe Burrow.

NEW YORK GIANTS at CINCINNATI BENGALS

Pro Football Odds: Giants -6, Total 45

Now, we've got controversy.

Giants Bengals free pickInterestingly enough, the Giants have started to get a running game going, as they have averaged over 142 yards in their last five games. But head coach Joe Judge threw s fly in the ointment when he brought another offensive line coach in - a "consultant," as he put it - and pissed existing OL coach Marc Palumbo off. Ultimately, ugly words were exchanged, leading to Palumbo's ouster.

We'll see how that whole thing plays out, but there is a disruption, certainly. And let's be honest - Daniel Jones is the team's leading rusher. The Giants have been putting some money in their backers' pockets, going 6-0-1 ATS over the last seven games.

Meanwhile, the Bengals have lost their rookie starting quarterback. Joe Burrow tore his ACL and MCL against Washington, and he will be replaced by Brandon Allen for this game. Allen played college ball at Arkansas, where his head coach was Bret Bieliema, who happens to be the Giants' linebacker coach right now. So no worries about putting a game plan together to combat the Cincy sub.

And the word is that the Bengal players have been tuning out head coach Zac Taylor, who is said to be non-communicative. And they have not been happy with his staff either. Some of them have wanted out of town, and Carlos Dunlap, for one, has gotten his wish.

The Bengals have some genuine receiving threats (AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins), but whether Allen, who completed just 46% in three starts for Denver last year, can get the ball to them with any consistency remains to be seen.

The best play here is UNDER the total.

CLEVELAND BROWNS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Pro Football Odds: Browns -7 (-120), Total 48

For the Jags, it's obviously been a strange season. There hasn't been enough personnel, and if the New York Jets happen to slip up; that is to say, if they win, there might be a real struggle for that #1 pick in the draft.

Jags Browns free pickAnd J-Ville management may have decided that it has seen all it wanted to from Jake Luton, who threw four interceptions against Pittsburgh last weekend. They will be benching him in favor of......no, not Gardner Minshew, even though he says he's healthy after a thumb injury. No, the starter will be Mike Glennon, who's been making the rounds as a backup.

I don't know if this is a sign of "tanking" on the part of Marrone and the Jags' front office, because Luton, not Minshew, is listed as the backup. But if Marrone wanted to carry out a tank, wouldn't Luton still be the starter? I think maybe that would be the case.

At any rate, Cleveland, which sports one of the best ground attacks in the league, with TWO potential thousand-yard rushers (Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb) hasn't gotten a TD pass in the last three weeks from Baker Mayfield. And they have covered just one of their last ten on the road. So you can go with the dog here, but you can go with the UNDER as well.
