NHL Stanley Cup Conference Finals preview and picks

The conference finals are set for the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs following more exciting hockey action and a Game 7 in Round 2 with the Edmonton Oilers advancing over the Vancouver Canucks. That followed a pair of Game 7's in the opening round series that saw the defending Stanley Cup champions Vegas Golden Knights eliminated by the Dallas Stars. Now the leading online sportsbooks have made Dallas Stars a slight favorite over the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals, and the Florida Panthers a slightly bigger favorite at nearly 3/2 over the Presidents' Cup champions New York Rangers in the East.

Will the Rangers and Oilers top lines in the playoffs carry them to the Stanley Cup Finals as small underdogs?

While we cashed in on the Rangers as underdog in the second round series over Carolina, we couldn't quite get there with the Boston Bruins as a bigger 'Dog against Florida. Both the Rangers and Panthers won in 6-games. The Stars also won in 6-games and the Oilers in 7-games over the Canucks.

We're back on the New York Rangers as underdog to win and advance to the Stanley Cup. If you also prefer the Rangers, then a bonus bet on Chris Kreider  (+1400) to have the most points in the series might be a worthy prop bet. The Rangers to win Game 1 is also in play, and New York is 4-1 at home in the playoffs after an Eastern Conference best 30 home wins during the regular season.
