NFL Week 7 Best Bets

A look at Week 7 of the NFL, with some betting tips and top picks for the week.

Three top picks for Week 7 NFL betting

It's almost hard to believe that six weeks of the 2020 NFL season has passed already. Seattle, Tennessee, and Pittsburgh are the only remaining unbeatens heading into Week 7. One of them will fall - barring a dreaded tie - as the Titans host the Steelers on Sunday.

At the other end of the spectrum, the New York Jets are clearly the worst team in the NFL and have yet to be featured in our free sports picks. To make matters worse, the Jets will host the 4-2 Buffalo Bills this Sunday. The Bills have already beaten the Jets once this season.

Are any of these teams one of Week 7's best bets?

Pittsburgh @ Tennessee (Over 52.5)

The Titans are a home underdog to Pittsburgh likely because of the closeness of most of their games. Tennessee won its first three games of the season by a combined six points and needed late field goals to win all three. Since then, the Titans have pounded the Bills 42-16 and held off rival Houston 42-36 in overtime last week.

Pittsburgh SteelersThe Titans and Steelers are pretty evenly matched as the 1.5-point spread indicates. One thing is certain though, both teams have capable offenses.

The Steelers average 31.2 points per game and the Titans score 32.8 a game. The one difference might be Pittsburgh’s run defense which is second in the league. Last week, the Steelers held Cleveland to just 75 yards rushing, 113 below their average.

But, Tennessee’s Derrick Henry leads the league in rushing and is coming off a 212-yard, two-touchdown performance. Even if Pittsburgh slows Henry down, the Steelers will still have to contend with Titans QB Ryan Tannehill, who threw four touchdowns in last week's win over Houston.

In addition, in Tannehill's 15 starts in Tennessee, the Over is 13-2. Breaking it down further, the Over has cashed in eight of Tannehill’s nine starts at Nissan Stadium.

And, the Over is 6-1 in Pittsburgh's last seven trips to Nashville.

Kansas City (-8.5) @ Denver

The Chiefs are coming off a big win over Buffalo in Week 6, while Denver may have saved its season with a win in New England last week.

Chiefs Broncos free pickSince Andy Reid became the Chiefs head coach, Kansas City has done remarkably well in games against AFC West opponents and games on the road. In divisional play under Reid, the Chiefs are 28-15-1 ATS. In road games, they are 37-19-1 ATS. Combining the two, we find that Kansas City with Reid as the head coach is 16-5 ATS against AFC West opponents on the road.

It’s a solid bet taking Kansas City to cover at top online sportsbooks, especially knowing that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is 26-13-2 ATS in all of his career starts.

Seattle @ Arizona (Over 56.5)

It's hard to bet against the Seahawks' Russell Wilson. The quarterback is 72-54-7 ATS in his NFL career.

The Cardinals actually perform pretty well as an underdog under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Arizona is 10-4-2 ATS in such games.

Seattle Seahawks Arizona CardinalsStill, it's Russell Wilson! So, with Wilson leading the Seahawks offense, which leads the NFL with 33.8 points per game, and the Seattle defense flailing its arms as it gives up 471 yards and 27 points a game, the better bet is the Over.

Arizona QB Kyler Murray threw two touchdowns and ran for one in Monday's win over Dallas. The Cardinals are 4-2 and average 27.7 points per game. These two teams might hit the total by the end of the third quarter.
