It’s another trip to the Left Coast for Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay Packers and the previous results this season have been uglier than the Houston Astros shake-up.

Besides the 37-8 beat down the Pack suffered in Santa Clara; they were crushed in Carson by the Chargers 26-11, in a game that wasn't that close.

Riding a six-game winning streak (3-3 ATS), there is a school of thought the Packers will be much better this time around. Oddsmakers are less convinced with San Francisco, a 7.5-point home favorite, which is up from -3 in the last meeting seven weeks ago

The general feeling is the Green and Gold is on a roll and Rodgers knows his chances of getting this close to another Super Bowl are rather remote and he will have his A-game.

Besides Rodgers, there are two other keys for coach Matt LeFleur's squad. The Packers have to run the ball and effectively. They are 11-1 SU when they have 28 or more rush attempts (lone loss was to Niners). With San Fran allowing 4.4 yards a carry, that could mean 125 or more yards on the ground for Green Bay, which opens up the passing game.

On defense, the Packers were 18th in yards allowed, but 4th in yards per point, taking on a bend but don't break persona. If they keep the 49ers out of the end zone and force turnovers, they'll have a shot.

Still, we have this question. Can the Packers really generate a 30-point turnaround to win and a 21.5-digit makeover to cover the number?

San Francisco was second in the league in scoring at almost 30 PPG and they chewed up a good Minnesota Vikings defense last week with 186 yards rushing. Jimmy Garappolo was a non-factor last week (11 of 19 for 122 yards passing), yet didn't need to be. The strength of this team is it's the roster, not star players.

The defense has Dee Ford back to rush the passer, which makes the front four, even more effective and they do exceptional work when dropping seven.

A storyline has been Green Bay at +7.5 and getting the "hook". However, in Conference Championship games, when the spread is 7 to 9.5, the underdog is a mere 8-16 ATS.
