Can the Seattle Seahawks get up off the floor, with a backup quarterback, and beat the New Orleans Saints to stay alive in the playoff race?

The weather is going to be a major character in the drama that is the New Orleans Saints versus the Seattle Seahawks. The curtain goes up at 8:15 PM ET at Lumen Field in Seattle, which of course used to be known as CenturyLink Field.

And BetAnySports has a lot of ways for you to wager on this game. First of all, you can get reduced juice, which offers a discount and better value on the odds. Then there is the Prop Builder, which offers a ton of props, including some you can construct yourself. There is also the real-time wagering angle, in which you can keep betting even after the kickoff - through Super Lines, Ultimate Lines and Premier Lines.

The Seahawks are sinking fast. With Russell Wilson out after injuring his finger, Geno Smith has had to assume quarterback duties. He's been okay, but he's not Wilson, and that is a problem. Another problem is that Seattle will fall five games behind the Arizona Cardinals in the uber-competitive NFC West with a loss.

The Saints have been getting by in the wake of Drew Brees' retirement, as Jameis Winston, who sat and watched for the most part last year learning the New Orleans system, is behind center. Winston has surprised some by throwing only three interceptions. And the Saints have been proficient in the red zone, scoring a TD on thirteen out of 14 trips.

In the Monday Night Football odds posted on this game at BetAnySports, the Saints are favored on the road:

New Orleans Saints -5
Seattle Seahawks +5

Over 41.5 Points -110
Under 41.5 Points -110

The conditions will be rough; the probability of rain is almost 100%, and the winds will be up over 20 miles an hour. It'll be cold too; it's just going to be nasty, and it's been storming pretty badly.

Normally, you would think this plays right into the hands of the Saints, who have run the ball 54% of the time and have the star running back, Alvin Kamara. And since Winston has appeared to "buy in" to the offensive approach, it would seem ideal. And since it might seem logical that the air wouldn't be filled with footballs in such weather, Seattle should be seeking out the ground attack too. And New Orleans has held opponents to just 3.3 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Seattle has allowed more yards than any other NFC team. And that's a big hole. So what to do?

Well, New Orleans is laying more than a field goal on the road, and one of their injured wide receivers, Tre'Quan Smith, will be activated for this game.

But this is still a thin corps out there, and Kamara has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry. Also, Taysom Hill, who is a great complimentary player, is out. For a team that is already 31st in the league in total offense, well, that's not where you'd like to be. The Saints are liable to be one-dimensional, while the Seahawks won't be. And I don't trust Winston enough to lay this number. So while my primary play might be the under, I'd take the points too.
