The MLB season continues into June and the dog days of summer are approaching. The Yankees were 40-19 at this time last year on their way to making it to the World Series before losing to the LA Dodgers. The Tigers were in 4th place in the AL Central languishing below .500 before rallying to make the playoffs along with the KC Royals, while the Twins completely collapsed in Sept. The Seattle Mariners were leading the AL West last year into June and 5-games over .500, but ended up missing the playoffs at 85-77 with Houston winning the AL West.

So much can change as we saw the Twins win 13-straight games in May while the Athletics lost 11 straight games and 14-of-15 into the final two days of May. The Tigers are 18-8 in May as they begin a 3-game road trip at Kansas City with their only key series in June vs. the Twins to close the month. The Red Sox have lost 5-straight games while the Rays have won 8-of-9 to close the month. But the New York Yankees have extended their division lead with 5-straight wins and 9 of their last 10 as they begin a World Series rematch and 3-game series on the road with the LA Dodgers on May 30.
The Yankees have scored a league-high 305 runs with a league-best run differential of +113 followed by the Tigers (288, +84) with no other AL team above +30. The Athletics (-101) and Orioles (-97) have the worst run differential in the American League. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is having a historic start through two months hitting .391 with 18 HRs, 47 RBIs and chasing more records including .467 batted balls in play (BABIP).

The Toronto Blue Jays play 9-straight Interleague games including against top teams Phillies and Cardinals plus another early-month series at home against the Phillies. The Blue Jays have the toughest schedule in June with seven series against winning teams.
American League Odds
A look at the American League division odds at BetUS shows the Tigers (-325) a strong AL Central favorite over the Twins (+550) and Guardians (+850). Odds continue to adjust, but the Yankees (-1000) are the biggest favorite in baseball to win their division in the AL East with the Red Sox, Rays and Blue Jays all +1400 to +1600, or 14/1 to catch the Yankees and win the division. The Mariners (+105) and Astros (+115) remain favorites in the AL West with the Rangers (+550) trying to get above .500 in the weakest division in the American League.
