We've got three games scheduled for college football on Friday night, including a couple of ranked teams.

BetOnline customers don't have to wait until Saturday afternoon to dive into college football action. There are a trio of interesting games scheduled for Friday night, and because they involve a couple of ranked teams, they could have implications on the playoff picture.

HOUSTON COUGARS at TULSA GOLDEN HURRICANE, 7:30 PM ET

College Football Lines: Tulsa -3 (-120) / Houston +3 (+100)
Total: Over 54 Points (-108) / Under 54 Points (-112)

Tulsa has suffered a setback at the hands of UC Davis, which resides in the FCS ranks, but at least they are a nationally-ranked FCS squad.

Both of these teams have exhibited some inconsistency on offense, but Houston probably has the edge on the defensive side of the ball. Of course, much of this is relative, because they have played weak opposition. That includes Navy, which was doing so poorly moving he football that it had to dismiss its offensive coordinator.

And Tulsa has bogged down in enemy territory, ranking among the nation's bottom dozen teams in red zone offense.

In a game that could be tight, a difference-maker might come on special teams. Tulsa has had frequent breakdowns in that era, and they've had three kicks returned for touchdowns. Meanwhile, Marcus Jones is one of the more dangerous return men around, at least thus far, as he has brought two punts backs to the house.

For what it's worth, Houston has covered 19 of its last 27 as a road underdog. We'll take the points.

IOWA HAWKEYES at MARYLAND TERRAPINS, 8 PM ET

College Football Odds at BetOnline: Iowa -3
Total: Over 47.5 Points (-108) / Under 47.5 Points (-112)

Some think this could be a great coming-out party for Taulia Tagovailoa, brother of Tua, who was completed a super-sharp 76% with a 10-1 ratio of touchdowns to interceptions. But there is some distance between Maryland's stop unit and that of Iowa, which has allowed just eleven points and game and will make things about as difficult as possible for Tua's brother.

Iowa is ranked fifth in both polls, and remains very much in the discussion for a possible playoff berth. But the Hawkeyes will have to clear a few hurdles, including Penn State next week (4th in AP, 6th in Coaches poll).

Is Iowa mentally tough? Well, Kirk Ferentz has not been intimidated laying points on the road, as he has covered 19 of his last 24 decisions in that situation. We're on IOWA.

BYU COUGARS at UTAH STATE AGGIES, 9 PM ET

Football Odds: BYU -9 (-115) / Utah State +9 (-105)
Total: Over 65 Points (-115) / Under 65 Points (-105)

It's been a pretty smooth transfer on the part of quarterback Logan Bonner, as he followed coach Blake Anderson from Arkansas State to Utah State. No one is going to accuse the Aggies of having a defense, but they have allowed their foes to do more damage on the ground, as they've surrendered 5.6 yards per carry.

BYU has yielded 70% completions and 236 yards through the air. In this day and age that's not horrible. But Bonner can "dent the dish" enough to carry this OVER the total; his 8.3 yards per attempt is the highest he's had in five years of college ball.
