The push to the 12-team College Football Playoff is drawing more interest as the most meaningful games are played in the weeks ahead. That includes CFP Top 25 games each week with the first of six College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings released Nov. 4. 

College Football Playoff odds betting tipsNo surprise that Ohio State is No. 1 and Indiana No. 2 with those two Big Ten teams on a collision course for the Big Ten Championship Game and also the two favorites to win the College Football Playoff Championship. The Buckeyes (+220) and Hoosiers (+450) are favorites ahead of Alabama (+650) and Texas A&M (+750) from the SEC.

The five highest-ranked conference champions receive automatic bids to the 12-team College Football Playoff. The seven highest-ranked teams remaining will round out the 12-team bracket and field. 

A change from last season's initial format now has the teams ranked Nos. 1-4 in the College Football Playoff rankings earning the top four seeds and a first-round bye, regardless of whether they win their conference championship or not.

Seeds 5-12 will play each other in the first round, with the higher-seeded teams hosting at campus sites.

The No. 7 BYU at No. 8 Texas Tech is a huge game in the Big 12 with the Cougars (8-0) the only undefeated team at 5-0 in conference play just ahead of the Red Raiders (8-1), who are 5-1 in Big 12 play along with Cincinnati (7-2/5-1).

The highest ranked ACC team is Virginia (8-1), who controls their own destiny at 5-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The ACC is the most upside down conference from preseason projections with Georgia Tech (8-1) and Pitt (7-2) both 5-1 in ACC play. Louisville (7-1), SMU (6-3) and Duke (5-3) are all 4-1 in Big 12 play. Heavy preseason favorite Clemson, who started the season ranked top-5 in the AP Poll, is 3-5 overall and 2-4 in ACC play with top contender Miami (6-2) now 2-2 in conference play following back-to-back home losses as 6.5 and 12 point favorites.

BIG 10 College Football National ChampionshipMichigan (7-2) is 5-1 in Big Ten play and can still have a say in the conference championship game if they win their next two road games as favorite ahead of the Big Game at the Big House against huge rival Ohio State. Preseason favorite and top-2 ranked Penn State (3-5) is incredibly 0-5 in conference play and a huge 15-point home underdog to Indiana this week. The preseason line on that game had the Nittany Lions favored. Oregon (7-1/4-1) has the toughest remaining schedule that includes a potential CFB Playoff elimination game with USC (6-2/4-1). Iowa (6-2/4-1) will have a say in the standings and conference push with back-to-back games the next two Saturday's against Oregon and at USC. Minnesota, Washington, Illinois and Nebraska all have 6 wins and are already bowl eligible.

The Mountain West is still up for grabs with San Diego State (7-1) leading the way at 4-0 in conference play. The Mid American Conference (MAC) has four teams 4-1 with Ohio, Western Michigan, Miami, Ohio and Buffalo all battling for a spot in the MAC Championship Game. Key games in November are on Tuesday through Friday for MACtion with Ohio beating rival Miami, Ohio 24-20 on Nov. 4.
