College Football Playoff Rankings, Odds and 2024 Biggest Games In Closing Weeks

The push to the new 12-team College Football Playoff is drawing more interest as the most meaningful games are played in the weeks ahead. That includes CFP Top 25 games each week and a pair of key SEC battles on Saturday, Nov. 9. 

- No. 3 Georgia (-2.5) at No. 16 Ole Miss | 3:30 p.m. | ABC/ESPN+
- No. 11 Alabama vs. No. 15 LSU | 7:30 p.m. | ABC/ESPN+ 

Other key matchups to watch and wager with CFP rankings implications, conference races, bowl bids and rivalry games through November are provided below. Odds and spreads updated each week.  

College Football playoff ranking oddsUndefeated Teams 

No. 1 Oregon (9-0), Miami (9-0), BYU (8-0), Indiana (9-0), Army (8-0). The Oregon Ducks beat Ohio State 32-31 on October 12 in one of the NCAA football biggest games of the season so far.   

One Loss Teams 

Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Boise State, Iowa State, SMU, PIT, Washington State, Louisiana. The Buckeyes and Bulldogs are both top-3 in the opening CFP rankings.  

Two Loss Teams

There are 10 power conference teams with 2-losses, but none currently in the Big Ten. So plenty to be determined in the final month of the regular season with Alabama and LSU among those teams essentially playing a CFP knockout game this Saturday. Other 2-loss teams of note among the CFP challengers includes Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Clemson, Kansas State and Colorado. 

Leading online sportsbook BetOnline has current odds posted for which teams will win the 2024 College Football Playoff, and odds for teams to make the 12-team playoff.

Nov. 6

- Northern Illinois (-2) at Western Michigan. The NIU Huskies (4-4) beat Notre Dame for the No. 10 ranked Irish's only loss. But the Huskies are just 1-3 in the MAC while Western Michigan (5-3) is 4-0 in conference play and a home 'Dog. 

Nov. 9

- Oklahoma (-2.5) at Missouri 
- Michigan at Indiana (-14)
- Washington at Penn State (-13.5)
- BYU (-4) at Utah - Both teams have a bye entering this showdown and Holy War with this bitter in-state battle now a conference game and an annual protected rivalry in the Big 12.
- Iowa State (-3) at Kansas
- Miami (-10.5) at Georgia Tech
- Clemson (-6.5) at Virginia Tech 
- Colorado (-3.5) at Texas Tech
- South Carolina (-3.5) at Vanderbilt
- Florida State at Notre Dame (-25.5) - Preseason line was Notre Dame -4.5.
- Virginia at Pittsburgh (-7.5)
- Florida at Texas (-21.5) - The Longhorns (7-1) are in the CFP mix while the Gators (4-4) are still fighting for a bowl bid but did cover smaller spreads (+14) vs. both Tennessee and Georgia last week away from home.

Nov. 16

- Tennessee at Georgia - The Bulldogs have won seven in a row against Tennessee, and six by 20 or more points. Preseason line was Georgia -16.5, but this game will now be single digit spread. 
- LSU at Florida - an early season projected impact game is now only meaningful for LSU. Preseason line was LSU -5.5.
- Oregon at Wisconsin - Preseason line Oregon -11.5
- Nebraska at USC- Both teams have a bye before they meet for the first time since 2014 Holiday Bowl.
- Utah at Colorado - Preseason line was Utah -7.5 as the Big 12 favorite. But Utes fighting for a bowl bid at 4-4 entering in-state showdown with Big 12 leader BYU on Nov. 9. Colorado (6-2) is 4-1 in Big 12 play into Nov. 9 game at Texas Tech.  

Nov. 23 

- Alabama at Oklahoma - preseason line Alabama -2. 
- Texas A&M at Auburn - preseason line A&M -2
- USC at UCLA - Preason line USC -7.5 for this annual crosstown rivalry, now between Big Ten foes. A huge coaching mismatch with Lincoln Riley in his 3rd season at Southern Cal and new first year clueless coach Deshaun Foster. 
- Wisconsin at Nebraska - Wisconsin has won 9 straight in the series and the Badgers are 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS vs. the Corn Huskers since Nebraska joined the Big Ten. That 9 game winning streak by the Badgers ends this year. 
- Iowa State at Utah

Nov. 30 

- Texas at Texas A&M - Preseason line Texas -3.5. The Lone Star Showdown hasn't been played since 2011. But one of college football’s best rivalries is renewed in the SEC, which Texas joined this year and A&M in 2011 after both left the Big 12. 
- Oklahoma at LSU - Preseason line LSU -5. 
- Auburn at Alabama - Iron Bowl preseason line Alabama -13.5 & new Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer first time experience the intense rivalry. 
- Mississippi State at Ole Miss - The Egg Bowl is another must-see rivalry and Jeff Lebby is the new coach at MSU after serving as assistant under Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
- Michigan at Ohio State (-9.5) - Preseason advance line for The Game was Ohio State -9.5. It will be much higher with the Wolverines 5-4 into Nov. and just 3-3 in Big Ten play. The Wolverines have won 3-in-a-row over the Buckeyes, but Jim Harbaugh is no longer head coach and xx is doing just okay in his first season leading the Wolverines. 
- Washington at Oregon - The Ducks and Huskies close out their debut in the Big Ten by renewing their rivalry on Nov. 30. Oregon was -19.5 on the preseason line. The Huskies swept a pair from Oregon last season including 34-31 in the Pac 12 Championship Game as a 9-point underdog.
- Indiana at Purdue - The Old Oaken Bucket, rivalry
- Minnesota at Wisconsin - FBS’ most played rivalry and the Paul Bunyon Axe on the line in the 134th edition in 2024 
- Illinois at Northwestern - The Illini have 6 wins into Nov. 9 game while Northwestern is 4-5 and fighting for a bowl bid. 
- Kansas State at Iowa State - Preseason line was Pk 'em for the 108th meeting of the rivalry called Farmageddon. Last year’s 42-35 Cyclones road win as 10-point underdogs was played in the snow.
- Arizona State at Arizona - The 98th meeting of the Territorial Cup. Last year’s in-state showdown went to the Wildcats with a 59-23 road win 120 miles NW of Tucson in Tempe.
- South Carolina at Clemson - Tigers have won 8 of the last 9 meetings (6-3 ATS), but the loss in this bitter rivalry and Palmetto Bowl was at home 31-30 in 2022 as a 14-point favorite.
- North Carolina at NC State
- Florida at Florida State
- Louisville at Kentucky
- Duke at Wake Forest
- Virginia at Virginia Tech - The Hokies have won 18 of the last 19 meetings in the Commonwealth Cup (14-5 ATS) including last year’s 55-17 route laying less than a field goal.
