College Football 2022 Top 25 Matchups, Odds And Week 10 Picks

FairwayJay chips a College Football Top 25 Betting Report with Week 10 picks on the biggest games generating the most interest.

Preview and Top 25 Picks for NCAA Football Week 10

The first College Football Playoff rankings came out this week, and Tennessee is No. 1 followed by No. 2 Georgia. And those two teams meet on Saturday in a huge SEC East division showdown in Athens. This will be one of the biggest bet games of the regular season at the leading online sportsbooks. More than 80% of the early money is on the public underdog Tennessee to cover the spread, which has dropped from Sunday's opener in Las Vegas of Georgia -9 to -8. The over/under is down sharply nearly four points and is currently 66 total points.

You can check out my College Football Playoff Top 25 Picks, Opinions and Leans on the four Top 25 match-ups for Sat., Nov. 5 below.

- No. 1 Tennessee at No. 3 Georgia | 3:30 p.m. | CBS
- No. 6 Alabama at No. 10 LSU | 7 p.m. | ESPN
- No. 13 Kansas State vs. No. 24 Texas | 7 p.m. | FS1
- No. 21 Wake Forest at No. 22 NC State | 8 p.m. | ACC Network

Last week I provided the top defensive teams and defensive dominators in college football. Review the list and update the stats as you evaluate the match-ups each week and use these stats as guidelines when handicapping. That includes the more balanced and efficient top offenses

Top 25 Matchups and Picks

No. 1 Tennessee at No. 3 Georgia | 3:30 p.m. | CBS
Line: Georgia -8 and Total 66 at reduced juice Sportsbook BetAnySports

Additional stats and analysis in my added coverage of the Tennessee-Georgia showdown with the line dipping to Georgia -8. The Bulldogs are a defensive dominator and Georgia's offensive stats are now on par with Tennessee with both teams averaging about 535 yards per game offense vs FBS foes to lead the country.

Lean: Under

No. 6 Alabama at No. 10 LSU | 7 p.m. | ESPN
Line: Alabama -13 and Total 56.5 at BookMaker

Alabama LSU SEC free pickBoth teams are 4-1 and tied with Ole Miss on top of the SEC West division after LSU crushed the Rebels last week 45-20 with a perfectly balanced 500 yards offense. The Tigers are improved and just played their best game. But Alabama is still the real deal with a defensive dominator defense that stuffs the run and has elite talent on the edge. Junior outside linebacker Will Anderson is a future top-5 NFL Draft pick and has 37 pressures this season. LSU QB Jayden Daniels is a duel threat who leads the Tigers in rushing. But he's been sacked 26 times and will be under more pressure this week. Alabama QB Bryce Young leads the superior team in yards per play (6.9 vs 5.7), and we cashed in on Tennessee with a Pick in the Vols Week 6 blowout win at LSU. The 'Tide can roll as well.

Opinion: Alabama

No. 24 Texas at No. 13 Kansas State | 7 p.m. | FS1
Line: Texas -2.5 and Total 54 at BetUS

Kansas State blew out Oklahoma State last week 48-0, and the Wildcats are now +9 in turnover margin this season. An embarrassing loss for Oklahoma State and our pick on the Cowboys. Texas is rested and ready off a bye week, and the pedigree and potential of the Longhorns is still strong. Texas has played a top 10 schedule and has three close losses, including 20-19 to Alabama earlier this season. The Longhorns also have a stronger yards per play and yards per game margin with both teams on the outer edge of top defenses in our defensive dominator list.

Pick: Texas

Wake Forest Top 25 free pickNo. 21 Wake Forest at No. 22 NC State | 8 p.m. | ACC Network
Line: Wake Forest -4 and Total 54.5 at Jazz Sports

NC State freshman QB MJ Morris came off the bench last week to lead the 22-21 comeback win after trailing Virginia Tech 21-3. He passed for 265 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Morris starts this week for injured QB Devin Leary, who had season-ending surgery for a torn pectoral muscle. Wake Forest star QB Sam Hartman threw 3 INT's last week Wake Forest had 8 turnovers in the second half of a 48-21 blowout loss at Louisville. Hartman now has 5 INT's this season with 22 TD passes and continued explosive play potential.

Lean: Wake Forest
