American online gaming operator Caesars Interactive Entertainment Incorporated has partnered with leading developer Electronic Arts (EA) Incorporated to launch a World Series of Poker (WSOP) social poker game on Facebook.

Caesars Interactive Entertainment is a subsidiary of land-based casino operator Caesars Entertainment and it collaborated with EA in July to premiere the World Series of Poker Presented by EA play-for-fun poker app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices.

Caesars Interactive stated that the new WSOP Texas hold'em Facebook title means that 'one of the most trusted [and] celebrated brands in poker' is now available as a cross-platform game experience to 'Facebook, smartphone and tablet players worldwide'.

"Now, fans can login anywhere and at any time to access their chip stacks or jump in to a game with friends on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets and Facebook," read a statement from Las Vegas-based Caesars Interactive.

"With features and functions pulled straight from the WSOP, the game is designed to appeal to novices and pro players alike. The game offers players the challenge of winning virtual rings and bracelets just like at real WSOP events plus there are VIP rooms to explore and pro status levels that can only be unlocked with skill."

Caesars Interactive declared that the new WSOP Facebook game gives players the ability to challenge friends, family and opponents from around the world to 'hone their skills and win virtual prizes anytime [and] anywhere'.

"WSOP for Facebook features the classic elements of the WSOP franchise with numerous virtual prizes, a wealth of poker statistics and live chat capabilities," read the statement from Caesars Interactive.

"WSOP for Facebook extends a cross-platform gaming experience any poker player will love."
