Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Penguins formally celebrated the opening of the new BetRivers Lounge at PPG Paints Arena following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 23. The sportsbook-style lounge officially opened to the public on April 24.

Plans to build the lounge were first unveiled in September.

"The BetRivers Lounge is yet another investment delivered under our Rivers partnership to enhance fan experiences inside PPG Paints Arena," David Morehouse, president and CEO of the Penguins, said in a release. "The lounge will provide a safe and exciting space for fans to enjoy an innovative and multimedia experience while attending Pens games and other live sporting events year-round."

The new lounge, located on the arena's third floor and in the former space of several rows at the top of section 120 in the arena's lower bowl, features two new rows of luxury seating and a bar area.

BetRivers enlisted DMAC Architecture of Chicago to design the lounge, which is supposed to replicate the same sportsbook area the firm created at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh on the North Shore.

"Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is particularly proud of our longstanding relationship with the Penguins, and we’re delighted that the BetRivers Lounge is now open," Bill Keena, general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, said in the release. "The architectural renderings have come to life perfectly, and the views of the ice are terrific."
