2020 NFL Week 16 Best Bets

A look at Week 16 of the NFL, with betting tips and three top picks for the week.

Betting tips and top picks for Week 16 in the NFL

Two double-digit favorites - the Rams and Steelers - fell in Week 15. Are there a few more underdogs that can win outright in Week 16?

It's possible, but a number of teams are still fighting for their playoff lives. Here's a look at this week's best bets.

HOLIDAY SPORTS BETTING AT AMERICA’S BOOKIE

Cleveland (-10) at N.Y. Jets

So, the Jets were one of the teams to pull off a win as a double-digit underdog last week. The Jets were road dogs of 17 points, but somehow won at SoFi Stadium last week. Do not all of a sudden think that the Jets have cured all their ills and are now a good football team. They’re not.

Cleveland Browns free pickCleveland is 10-4 and can still win the AFC North with a win over the Jets and the division-leading Steelers next week. It's safe to say that the Browns are a playoff team and the Jets are not.

The Jets also have a quarterback named Sam Darnold, which is one of a handful of NFL starting quarterbacks to fade. Opponents are 22-13-1 ATS against Darnold. Even with a 10-point spread, the Browns simply have too much to play for and, again, the Jets just aren't very good.

Tennessee at Green Bay - OVER 56

These are two of the top three scoring teams in the NFL. Tennessee averages 31.1 points per game; Green Bay checks in at 31.0. The Titans have won three of their last four games and have scored an average of 39.2 points in those four games.

Tennessee Green Bay betting tipsEven casual sports bettors know that Green Bay has won its last four straight and has averaged right at the Packers season average of 31 in those four games. With the two teams not being as familiar with each other, expect the offenses to have an advantage.

Now, it usually bodes well to bet on Aaron Rodgers, especially when he's playing at home. The Green Bay quarterback is 57-33-3 ATS at home in his career. The Titans have covered in four of their last five games, including the last two in which they were favorites of 7.5 and 8.5 points.

This game has all the makings of a shootout. Two teams that run the ball well. Tennessee’s Derrick Henry is the NFL's leading rusher and Green Bay's Aaron Jones is fourth. Both teams have quarterbacks that are capable of having big games.

Despite the big Total, Sunday night's game will see the Over cash.

Carolina (+2.5) at Washington

Just like it is wise to bet on Aaron Rodgers at home at Lambeau Field, it almost pays to bet on Carolina QB Teddy Bridgewater on the road as an underdog. That is exactly where Bridgewater will be on Sunday when his Panthers head to Washington.

Carolina Washington free play For his career, Bridgewater is an impressive 19-2 ATS when playing as a road underdog. Carolina is actually 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games and 4-2 ATS in its last six games against the Football Team.

While Washington is 9-5 ATS this season and 5-0 ATS in its last five games, the Panthers are 6-0 ATS in their last six games on the road. Back Bridgewater and the Panthers in this one.

We went 1-2 on our NFL Week 15 best bets, but 2 of our losses were heartbreakers . . . AGAIN!
