2016 National Championship Odds: Preview of tonight's North Carolina - Villanova matchup



Though the Villanova Wildcats are slight underdogs in tonight's NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game versus North Carolina, either team has the ability to cut down the nets as midnight approaches.

Tonight the Madness comes to an end and with a tournament filled with huge upsets and surprising runs, tonight NCAA Men's Basketball Championship is really anybody's game. Yet in Las Vegas and sportsbooks worldwide the #2 seeded Villanova Wildcats are listed as 2.5 point underdogs to the North Carolina Tar Heels. The game tips off at about 9:19 tonight and depending on who you want to root for you can view the game on any of three cable TV channels.

Villanova is one of the few teams in the country that has the defense to slow down the Tar Heels. Nova yields just 63 points-per-game and only gave up 59 points to then #1 Kansas and followed up with a 51 point defensive effort against the Sooners. Both teams have balanced attacks with several players that can score. North Carolina displayed their balanced scoring attack Saturday night with Brice Johnson and Justin Jackson adding 16 points each to go with 15 from Kennedy Meeks and Marcus Paige's 13. Nova showed the same balance as six players scored in double digits with Josh Hart leading the way with 23 points.
