Who is the Best Team in the NFL? The Arizona Cardinals.

Tony examines why the Arizona Cardinals are the top team to bet for Super Bowl 50.

Headed into the final week of the NFL Season the Arizona Cardinals who have been impressive all season, really impressed me in Week 16 in a blowout win over a good Green Bay team. Not to many teams make Aaron Rodgers look like a clown on the field, as he is one of the NFL's elite QB's, but the Cards dominated that game, a game I was taking the points on for a premium play at my service.

One thing is for sure, Arizona is a tough out and will no doubt be in the NFC Championship, and I do not see a team in the AFC capable of being a favorite over them if it comes down to a Super Bowl. Denver without Manning and having issues on offense, New England is a mess right now because of injuries and who knows how healthy they will be down the stretch, and we all know Cincy cannot win a big game in the post season.

Arizona Cardinals Super BowlThey have Seattle this week at home (currently Arizona is listed a 4.5 point favorite), a team they beat on the road and Seattle looked terrible in a loss to the Rams Sunday in a shocker as 12 point home favorite. Arizona has complete balance on offense, a rock solid QB with vast experience, a trio of WR's that are explosive and make big plays and a defense that is hard hitting and have a killer instinct, and of course they are extremely well coached. Even with Honey Badger out on defense, they did not miss a step and systematically beat the daylights out of the Packers in every single facet of the game.

Looking at the NFC picture is clear to me, it is Arizona and then everyone else. Carolina will struggle against Arizona simply because they cannot stretch the field against a good defense like this, and with the speed they have at end and in the linebacker unit, Cam Newton will not wreak havoc on them. Did I mention Carson Palmer is 26-4 in his last 30 starts?

The Cards rank first in total yards and scoring on offense, third in passing and sixth in rushing. On defense they rank fifth in total yards allowed, fourth against the rush and fourth in scoring. In my 24 years of handicapping games I have numerous NFL teams win a Super Bowl with far less impressive numbers and or numbers on one side of the ball that look good and the other side of the ball not so good. Arizona has a balance of great stats and numbers and skill players on both sides of the ball, and remember they will have home field for most of the post season if not all of it.

The Cards are currently around 6 to 1 to win the Super Bowl with the Pats and the Panthers tied at 3-1. I feel a futures wager at that price is well within reason to fire on.
