Saturday ACC Action

No. 18 Virginia Tech travels to No. 16 Florida State in a game that could help decide the ACC regular season title. Currently, the Seminoles are 8-2 and second in the conference, just ahead of the Hokies who are 8-3.

ACC basketball free pick FSU VTFSU is coming off an eye-opening 81-60 domination of seventh-ranked Virginia. M.J. Walker, the Seminoles leading scorer, had 17 in the win over the Cavaliers.

Virginia Tech is one of the better defensive teams in the country, allowing 65.6 points per game. The Hokies also possess a win over Virginia beating the Cavaliers 65-51 last Saturday.

With the Seminoles at home, look for FSU to be favored, but not by much. They were a 2.5-point favorite against Virginia at home. Saturday's spread should be similar.

For sports bettors, the play will be on Virginia Tech as the Hokies are 4-1 ATS as an underdog.

Australian Open Final

Saturday, the 2021 Australian Open will be decided. Novak Djokovic, winner of the last two straight Aussie Opens and eight total, is the favorite. He'll face Aslan Karatsev in the semifinal.

Australian Open betting tipsIn the other end of the bracket, No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal was knocked out by No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek will take on fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev in the other semifinal.

Nadal was actually favored at some sportsbooks to win the overall title. Djokovic is listed at +225 to win. He is a -1666 favorite to defeat the unseeded Karatsev in his semifinal.

Playing on a fast surface is what Djokovic does best and at +225, bettors should jump in quickly before the odds change. Djokovic is the favorite to win a third straight Australian Open.

Nets-Clippers Battle Sunday

Brooklyn travels to Los Angeles to face the Clippers on Sunday night. By Sunday, the Nets are likely to have both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving back in the lineup. It might not matter.

Brooklyn Nets free pickNeither Durant nor Irving was on the floor when Brooklyn beat the Suns in Phoenix on Tuesday. James Harden took control of the offense and poured in 38 points in the 128-124 victory.

It was the fourth straight win for Brooklyn and the third straight game in which the total went Over. The Nets, being the top-scoring team in the league, trend toward the Over, which is 22-8 in Nets’ games this season.

The Clippers have had some injury issues of their own as Paul George missed a couple games and Kawhi Leonard is listed as day-to-day on the latest injury report. In a game of this magnitude, one would expect both to play.

Clippers Nets free pickThat said, L.A. has also won four straight and in each of those four games the total went Over. The Over is 18-10-1 in Clippers games this year and 7-2-1 in the last ten.

Expect an inflated number like the Nets had when they faced Golden State last week. The total was 245.5 and 242.5 in a game against Sacramento. Regardless, bettors can play the Over all the way to 245 on Sunday night.
