Ultimate Gaming Leaving New Jersey Online Gambling Market

New Jersey's Internet gambling market is losing a provider already as Ultimate Gaming is leaving the market, suing the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

Ultimate Gaming annlounced Friday in a press release on their website that they have terminated their agreement with Trump Taj Mahal and will be closing Ultimate Casino and Ultimate Poker  in New Jersey. Ultimate Gaming has accused their partner, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, of multiple contract breaches and thus they are pulling out of New Jersey.

Ultimate is one of just two gaming companies that is operating in both the Nevada and New Jersey Internet gambling industries.  The company is based in Las Vegas and is mostly owned by Station Casinos. But their partnershp with Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ, has not had the success that everyone thought. The company is bringing suit against the Taj becuase they are owed $1.5 million and have not been paid in more than two months.

Marc Falcone, Ultimate's senior vice president. told the Assoicated Press, "We in effect haven't been paid for more than two months. Money that the site generated and that we are owed, we were never given."

Thought his move may be a bit shocking, it shold not be suprising to many in the fledling business of Internet gambling that Ultiamte is moving on from New Jersey. They ranked last out of New Jersey's six Internet gambling operations, taking in $4.9 million from online customers so far this year.

The move by Ultimate Gaming could also be fear of Stars! It is expected that PokerStars will be granted their online gaming license in the New Jersey, sooner rather than later. This will most likely completely change the landscape of online gambling in the Garden State and perhaps instead of challenging the top online poker operation in the world, Ultimate Gaming may have decided to cut their losses and focus on Nevada.

Ultimate Gaming is no longer accepting new deposits from New Jersey players and they are planning to close the operation entirely in the "near future." Players that have money on the site are urged to go to either ucasino.com or ultimatepoker.com for refunds.
