Super NFL Betting Values for the Super Bowl

Overall, this is probably a better time to put in any NFL future bets on the Super Bowl than before the season began.

As the NFL season reaches almost the midway point, you couldn't pick a better time to jump on board to "invest" for 2015 and select your Super Bowl winner. Go ahead and "bet games" this weekend but I'd tuck away an investment ticket or two for the first week of February. Surely, some interesting propositions I've observed at Bovada offer opportunities for us with some forsight, patience and of course a bit of luck.

First, keep in mind NFL betting at Bovada or any other reputable sportsbook is NOT a pari-mutuel wagering event. NFL odds are dictated by what the public will accept and what the book is willing to offer. They are also subject to change daily. Key recent cases in point:

The Denver Broncos are getting hammered right now as a huge 5-2 favorite with the closest NFL team, the Green Bay Packers being 8-1 to win the Lombardi Trophy. As the Broncos continue to impresss, expect that number to drop and the public will continue to pile on the money. Another example are the New England Patriots. Just three weeks ago there was ridiculous question of Tom Brady slipping after being crushed on Sunday Night Football by the Bengals. Now after two impressive wins, the Pats are down to 12-1 odds. Expect 8-1 to 10-1 if they keep rolling.

Super Bowl future bettingOverall, this is probably a better time to invest than before the season began. At least now we have some idea of a team's structure, their starting quarterback situation, injury analysis to this point and if they are potentially eliminated from any hope.

Toward the bottom of the Super Bowl team list at Bovada are the Washington Redskins at 300-1, Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans at 500-1. Realistically, these teams odds are around 5,000-1 and I'm not sure I wouldn't rather play the lottery instead.

Super Bowl 2015 Betting Suggestions

Here are a few suggestions to plan your investment. Bovada actually has some good value alternatives to the Broncos IF you're not convinced they are a Super Bowl lock. Remember, this is not the 7-game World Series. See Super Bowl XLVI and New York Giants 21 New England Patriots 17 for painful recent proof of that for some. The key word is "value" as that is what you are seeking at this point in time.

Incredibly, the Seattle Seahawks are down to 9-1 odds after their upset to the Rams last week. Amazing, how the public loses faith so quickly, therefore a great chance to take advantage of the current champion repeating. But hurry, a big win this week over Carolina knocks them down to a likely 5-1 again.

Speaking of the Carolina Panthers, hard to believe a team with this much talent could be 66-1 to win the Super Bowl. That's exceptional value to take a flier as they don't play in the same conference as the Broncos and could at least make it to the big game in the NFC.

In the poor value category, no surprise are them Cowboys. Dallas is an insane 9-1 with the public jumping all over them after their month of win streak glory. Not to say they won't make the playoffs but a realistic chance to WIN the Super Bowl is somewhere around 25-1 to 35-1.

The bottom line is to place your Super Bowl future bets NOW. And if you win it gives you the opportunity to brag for a month that you were a financial genius knowing who was going to win the Super Bowl in late October at incredible odds, not in the beginning of February 2015.
