The New Orleans Saints were a bitter disappointment as they blew a 13-point lead late in the fourth quarter of last week's game against Detroit. Now they have to deal with the Green Bay Packers in Sunday night football action that is taking place at the Superdome.

The New Orleans Saints have quite simply dug themselves a hole, and it is their own fault. But now they have to deal with an injury to their top receiver, among other things, as they lineup to face the Green Bay Packers in Sunday night NFL betting action. They will encounter a quarterback who has been red-hot, while battling the emotional scars that were left by letting a victory slip right through their hands last weekend. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 PM ET on NBC.

packers-saints free pickBetAnySports customers who were watching last week's festivities probably couldn't believe that the Saints could be ahead by thirteen points in the game with four minutes left and actually lose the game. Yet that is exactly what took place, as Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions got a 73-yard catch-and-run from Golden Tate and then engineered a last-minute drive, aided by a Saints penalty on fourth down and guided his team into the end zone once again.

All of a sudden the Saints, who had to scramble for an overtime win over Tampa Bay before the bye week, are 2-4 straight-up and against the football pointspread. The Packers, meanwhile, have been on a four-game tear, where they have scored 145 points, and they are now 5-2 SU and 3-3-1 ATS, after easily dispatching the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field.

In the Sunday night NFL lines established at BetAnySports, the Saints are the slight favorites:

New Orleans Saints -2
Green Bay Packers +2

Over 55 points -110
Under 55 points -110

Clearly there is a lot of respect for New Orleans and their ability to win at home. In fact, with Sean Payton on the sidelines, they have won 19 straight games at the Superdome, compiling a 17-1-1 record against the football odds. So that is rather formidable. So are the numbers that have been racked up by the New Orleans offense; they have gained 437 yards per game, and were the only team yet this season to break the 400-mark against Detroit, which shut down Green Bay in the third week of the season. BetAnySports customers, however, realize that this team has not won the turnover battle. In fact, they have only four takeaways, and that is in stark contrast to the Packers, who lead the league with a +10 turnover ratio.

What is of utmost importance for Drew Brees and the Saints is the health of tight end Jimmy Graham. The All-Pro is nursing a shoulder injury, and last week he was targeted only twice with no catches. With two running backs (Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson) out of action, and Mark Ingram not showing great form upon his return last week (just 16 yards on 10 carries), New Orleans may be without some viable offense outlets.

Green Bay has injuries in the secondary, as cornerback Sam Shields is out of this game with a knee injury, and Morgan Bennett will be a game time decision (calf). If there was anything inviting for Brees, who has 43 TD passes and just four INT's in thirteen prime time games at the Superdome, that might be it.

New Orleans has its work cut out for itself on defense, but that is not any news to the BetAnySports audience. Aaron Rodgers has 18 touchdown passes with only a single interception, and he has thrown for at least three touchdowns in each of the last four games. Jordy Nelson already has 712 receiving yards, and just in case the o[opponent pays too much attention to him, Rodgers has an explosive alternative on the other side in Randall Cobb, who had 121 yards last week against Carolina. This team has the potential to also bruise you with the running game, which is something New Orleans can't really accomplish. And that may prove to be the difference when all is said and done
