Two explosive offenses and subpar defenses get together as the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs square off.

The Kansas City Chiefs fell just short last time out, although they stayed perfect against the number. Now they look to bounce back with their varied and explosive offensive attack, and shouldn't have a difficult time doing it, as they do battle with the Cincinnati Bengals in the Sunday night NFL game, scheduled to get underway at 8:20 PM ET at Arrowhead Stadium. Remember that if you are signed up with BetAnySports, you can place wagers even after the game begins with Live Betting Ultra.

The Chiefs, who are now 6-0 against the spread, are coming off a loss to the New England Patriots, but they burned the Pats' secondary with plenty of big plays. They have to score a lot, because they aren't about to keep many teams quiet with their defense. Let's make an illustration: The Baltimore Ravens lead the NFL's defensive units by allowing just 19.95 yards per drive. The Chiefs have allowed 45.5 yards per drive, which is dead last in the league. Kansas City gets its opponents "off the field" (by way of three-and-outs) less frequently than anyone, except........... Cincinnati (last in that category at 12.3). At the same time, both are in the top seven in the NFL in yards, plays and points per drive.

The Bengals have dealt with some issues in the secondary. The Chiefs have, of course, been playing without future Hall of Fame safety Eric Berry, and could be without pass rusher Justin Houston as well. Both of them have been listed as "doubtful." So does thi shave the makings of a shootout?

In the Sunday night NFL betting odds that have been placed on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, the Chiefs are laying points:

Kansas City Chiefs -6
Cincinnati Bengals +6

Over 56.5 points -110
Under 56.5 points -110

Joe Mixon has been getting more work from the Bengals, and he should, because he's got the ability to break big plays. And the Chiefs have not done a good job against opposing running backs, surrendering 4.7 yards an attempt and also 46 pass receptions - the latter being a key figure against this offense, where Andy Dalton (65%, 7 INT's) likes to check down and throw short when he gets the chance. An interesting things to note here is that while Dalton was running for his life a lot last year, that hasn't been the case this season, as he's been sacked "only" 12 times.

He has also gotten the job done in the red zone. Cincinnati doesn't waste many trips there; in fact, the Bengals have converted 75% of their red zone trips into touchdowns, which is the best figure in the NFL. And neither of these defenses is in the top 20 of the league as far as that category is concerned.

Other interesting figures to take note of include the fact that while Cincinnati has allowed its opponents to convert 53.4% of the time on third down (only Atlanta has been worse), which should be poison here against Patrick Mahomes (8.8 yards per attempt), Kansas City's defense has been a more-than-credible 33.8% on third down. We would suggest that Cincy may not be as bad as that figure, and KC not as good, and that neither team is all that good.

The number on the total here is hefty, but we're not overly scared of it, because in addition to strengths (offenses) meeting weaknesses (defenses), there is also the very real possibility of flipping the field with returns, especially in the case of Kansas City (with Tyreek Hill). So we'll go OVER in this one.
