NHL Playoff Hockey: Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers Game 4 - Video and Free Pick

A preview of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 4 between Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers game including a video and free pick.

The Pittsburgh Penguins come home tonight in Game 4 of the first round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the New York Rangers, but that's not necessarily a good thing for Pittsburgh. The New York Rangers are the best team in the NHL on the road going 28-13, winning 3 more road games than any other team this season. The Penguins however have not been as stellar at home as the Rangers have been on the road, posting a mediocre 23-18 on home ice.

Diamond Sports has listed the Rangers as road favorties with moneyline betting odds of -120. The current over/under is 5 goals.

History favors the Rangers here; teams with a 2-1 lead in a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series are 307-136 (69.3 percent). The Rangers are 10-2 in the past 12 series they've led 2-1, which dates back to the 1994 Eastern Conference Final against the New Jersey Devils. The Rangers defense pairing of Dan Girardi and Ryan McDonagh has been exceptional against the Penguins. Girardi has averaged 21:41 of ice time and leads them with 15 blocked shots in three games. McDonagh averages a Rangers-leading 25:35 and has eight hits.

The Penguins face a must win tonight but need Evgeni Malkin and Chris Kunitz to show up and help out Pittsburgh's only bright light so far on offense in the playofffs, Sidney Crosby. The Penguins are 3-7 in their last 10 games playing on 1 day of rest and are just 2-5 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.

With all that in mind, Diamond Sports' prediction goes with the Rangers over Penguins here and also a free play on the Under!
