The Arizona Cardinals are 0-2 and have looked very bad doing it. Now they are facing a lot of fan pressure as they line up for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Well, after the first two weeks of the NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals, who finished 8-8 last season and had high hopes behind a new coach, not to mention the return of their star running back, have not scored a meaningful point yet. They have not had a lot of time to reflect, and they have a mean and nasty defense to deal with as the Chicago Bears come to town in a game that begins at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday.

Remember that if you are a BetAnySports customer, you can place wagers after the opening kickoff as you access the state-of-the-art software from Live Betting Ultra. You can also get better odds with reduced juice before the game begins.

Arizona allowed the Washington Redskins to go up and down the field on the opening weekend, giving up 21 first-quarter points, and they managed a meaningless fourth-quarter touchdown. Last week against the Los Angeles Rams, they were shut out and managed only six first downs. So something is obviously wrong here. Sam Bradford was thought to be an ideal seat-warmer while first-round draft pick Josh Rosen prepared himself to play in the NFL. But things have not worked out so well; he was constantly pressured last week and threw for only 90 yards. Now a decision may have to be made soon, not with regard to starting Bradford in this game, but whether to keep them on the roster all.

In the odds at BetAnySports upon which our NFL football picks will be made, the Bears are laying points on the road:

Chicago Bears -6
Arizona Cardinals +6

Over 39 points -110
Under 39 points -110

Yes, things look bleak for the Cardinal offense, which is operating in the kind of horse-and-buggy mode they displayed when the franchise was located in Chicago, but perhaps it should not be this way, because David Johnson, who had over 2100 yards from scrimmage in 2016, then had to sit out almost all of last year with a wrist injury, came back into the lineup. Yes, Carson Palmer retired, but Bradford, who played only one game last season because of injuries, had set an NFL accuracy record the year before.

But it seems as if Steve Wilks, in his first year as an NFL head coach after one year as a defensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers, does not have this team prepared well enough to play. And there also appears to be a lot of difficulty adapting to a new defensive scheme. The Cardinals had played a 3-4 under former coach Bruce Arians, who retired. And now they are switching to a 4-3, which sometimes is a 4-2-5 with the nickel back. They need to get some pressure on the passer, and that isn't happening.

The scheme operated by the Bears under first-year head coach Matt Nagy is to go with run-pass options that utilize what second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky can do well. The Bears have better receivers than they did last season and they already had a running game. Obviously the big-name addition right before the regular-season started was Khalil Mack, the NFL's defensive player the year, who could wind up causing a lot of headaches for Bradford. And the fourth former Heisman Trophy winner's back is to the wall right now; at this point the Cardinals could actually save $4 million in roster bonuses if they cut Bradford loose after this week. So maybe this is a do or die situation for him. If Bradford goes, you would most likely see Rosen, who, in the words of the team's general manager, Steve Keim, would play "when he's ready to play."

If the Cardinals don't start scoring soon, he may have to GET ready, ready or not.

In the NFL some very strange things happen. In a lot of ways it is unpredictable, and maybe those first two games are wake-up call for the Arizona squad. But coming back home after shutout loss, if they've got some effort in them, we are expecting it. Chicago has not been in this position laying a lot of points on the road in recent years, so we are certainly going to take the points with the Cardinals, and also play a little on the money line.
