Among our NCAA football picks for Saturday night are a couple of SEC road favroites, as well as a couple of Sun Belt possibilities, one of which is "famous" now.

Are they doing good enough things at Mississippi State these days? Let's see how they fare as a road favorite as they take on Kentucky, which is getting some respect after beating Florida earlier. Oh, and speaking of the Gators, they have to carry a small number at Tennessee. Can they?

Let's talk.......

MISSISSIPPI STATE AT KENTUCKY, 7 PM ET
LINE at BetAnySports: Mississippi State -9.5, Total 56

Joe Morehead, who was the offensive coordinator at Penn State, is making quite a difference with the Bulldogs, who are currently sizzling with the #9 offense in the nation, averaging 8.48 yards per play. Nick Fitzgerald is a good trigger man for the system, which is converting 61% on third down. MSU mainly travels by land, and Kylin Hill has averaged 9.2 yards per carry. This is all too much for Kentucky to deal with, making this a nice single-digit favorite play. GO WITH: Mississippi State

FLORIDA AT TENNESSEE, 7 PM ET
LINE Florida -4, Total 44

No, we're not so crazy about Florida QB Feliepe Franks. But he does have nine TD passes already, and the veteran Gator stop unit will be able to hassle Jarrett Guarantano enough to make a difference in Knoxville. If you can believe it, Tennessee's offense actually provided some optimism for Dana Dimel, beleaguered coach of UTEP, possibly the worst FBS team in the country, which may have beaten the Volunteers last week if they had any offense (OK, we're exaggerating just a bit). Tennessee is currently on a 4-9 ATS run at home. Former Alabama assistant Jeremy Pruitt has farther to go than counterpart Dan Mullen. GO WITH: Florida

LOUISIANA TECH AT LSU, 7 PM ET
LINE: LSU -20.5, Total 50.5

Here, we have a real danger of a letdown, after LSU's big victory over Auburn last week. Remember that Skip Holtz has always had a pretty good pointspread record as an underdog, and Louisiana Tech has covered 12 of its last 17 in that role. GO WITH: Louisiana Tech

TROY AT LOUISIANA-MONROE, 7 PM ET
LINE: Troy -4.5, Total 59.5

Troy is definitely a team that has to guard against the letdown, after going to Lincoln to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers last week. If you remember last season, they defeated LSU on the road, then went flat the next week against South Alabama. They are also in danger of getting caught reading their own press clippings – literally. Sports Illustrated came out with a story about the program this past week. But ULM is severely limited, ranking 110th on defense and 127th in red zone offense. And Troy is a nice road warrior, covering 14 at its last 19 as the visitor. GO WITH: Troy

NEW MEXICO STATE AT UTEP, 7:30 PM ET
LINE: New Mexico State -4, Total 48.5

Yes, UTEP performed admirably last time out, at least on the defensive end, against Tennessee. But they still can't put together an attack, managing just 134 yards and seven first downs against the Vols. Part of the problem is a thoroughly banged-up offensive line. And the defensive front is brittle as well, allowing 6.1 yards per rushing attempt. Losers of 15 straight games, the Miners are just 3-11-1 ATS during that time. At least the Aggies have enough talent to have gone to a bowl game as recently as last season. GO WITH: New Mexico State
