The Houston Rockets will have to bounce back from a horrible Game 6 loss to capture Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors.

Why did the Houston Rockets lose so badly in Saturday night's Game 6 right here in the Western Conference finals? Well, maybe it isn't so clear that it's because they were without Chris Paul. Maybe it's because while they had all kinds of problems handling the basketball, they encountered a Golden State Warriors team that finally started to understand they had to move the ball around a little. If the Dubs retained that lesson well, they are going to be very problematic for the Rockets, in this Game 7 that begins at 9:05 PM ET at the Toyota Center. BetAnySports customers will have the opportunity for reduced juice before the game begins, and then they can stay very much in the action as they take advantage of what is available through Live Betting Ultra.

The Rockets lost Paul when he suffered a hamstring injury in the final minutes of Game 6, and he must have been feeling like he was missing a great party when Houston went up by 17 points at the end of the first quarter. They hit threes, prevented the Warriors from getting good looks, and in general dictated the action.

But over the course of the game the Rockets' ball-handling difficulties became obvious. James Harden turned the ball over nine times. Eric Gordon had five turnovers. Now, it is appropriate to tell you that Harden was third in the NBA in assist, but that does not necessarily mean he is a floor general, running the show while keeping the ball out of the opponent's hands. That is a category Paul fits into, and that is what Houston missed.

And the Warriors were a lot more fluid on offense, picking up 26 assists while the Rockets had 21 turnovers. And Klay Thompson freed himself up for nine triples on thee way to 35 points. With Steph Curry breaking out of a little frustration earlier in the series, it makes it easier for G-State to handle the errant shooting they've been getting from Kevin Durant.

In the odds at BetAnySports upon which we will make our NBA playoff picks in Game 7, the Warriors are laying points on the road:

Golden State Warriors -5.5
Houston Rockets +5.5

Over 208.5 points -110
Under 208.5 points -110

Paul will be a game-time decision, as presumably coach Mike D'Antoni will want to take a look at him in warmups. As for the other injury question, that has just been answered. Andre Iguodala, the defensive stalwart who is part of the "Death" lineup and was the NBA Finals MVP three seasons ago, has been ruled out of this one with his "lateral leg contusion" and that will make four straight absences for him.

Yeah, maybe that puts some more pressure on the rest of the guys, especially as Kevon Looney, the center who will likely get a a start, has a sore toe. Durant has not been shooting well, making just 23 of 63 in the last three games, and sometimes when he gets the ball he "stops" it. he is performing in one area, through; he got to three free throw line 19 times in Game 6 (making 14). So he is attacking the basket, and should think more about doing that.

Golden State has outshot Houston from three-point territory (37.6%--34.3%). And they have outscored the Rockets by a 128-83 margin in the third quarter. Thompson mentioned that this team was just not going to allow itself to get eliminated, even after going behind by 17 points after twelve minutes. They did what they had to do, and Houston could not respond to that challenge. Yes, we are laying 5.5 points on the road against a 65-win team that was the #1 overall seed in the league. But when you are playing the Warriors in the pressurized situations, THEY are #1 until you prove otherwise.
