The San Antonio Spurs can extend their lead to three games to one in their NBA West playoff series on Saturday at home.

What a lot of Denver Nuggets backers feared could happen at the beginning of their Western Conference playoff series is, well, in the process of happening. That means the San Antonio Spurs are imposing their experience on the Nuggets, and ready to take command in a way that may be irreversible.

These teams will get together at 5:35 PM ET on Saturday in Game 4, coming from the home of the Alamo. And BetAnySports customers are going to get the best deal they could ever hope for with reduced juice, which offers better odds on a continual basis. That is something not to be missed!

You have to wonder how much the Nuggets really can do. After all, they made more than half their shots from the field and more than half their triples (15 of 29) but still lost by ten points. What they didn't do so well is defend; San Antonio made 49% from the floor and got a lot of chances at the free throw line (23 made). That was the difference.

Or at least one of them; the Spurs got enough production out of DeMar DeRozan (25 points) and LaMarcus Aldridge (18), but the huge factor was the play of Derrick White, the team's first-round draft pick from Colorado prior to last season who averaged just 9.9 points during the regular season but poured in 36 points on 15-for-21 shooting. He came out like a locomotive, with 26 points in the first half, and San Antonio needed just about all those points as they were up just 61-58 at the break.

The Nuggets showed some character by coming back from 19 points down in Game 2, with Jamal Murray playing the hero's role. But he was squelched with just six points on Thursday night.

In the NBA playoff betting odds - expressed with reduced juice - posted at BetAnySports for Game 4, the Spurs are the favorites:

San Antonio Spurs -3.5 (-108)
Denver Nuggets +3.5 (-102)

Over 208 points -103
Under 208 points -107

The Spurs have won 14 consecutive home games against the Nuggets, for what it's worth. So that's not a really good sign. Admittedly, this is not the same kind of Denver team as they've seen in the past, but the Nuggets are somewhat fortunate not to be down 3-0. There may not be a lot of residue left over from championship teams in San Antonio, but Gregg Popovich has been down this road before - again and again and again.

This is the time for Denver to really show us what kind of team they are. They don't have the post-season experience, but if they want to make any noise at all, they have to win on the road. White had his career high to beat them, and the Nuggets' bench outscored San Antonio's by a 50-19 margin. Look - the Nuggets shot well enough, but got blitzed.

The other side of the coin is that it might be unrealistic to expect that Denver can pump in 14 three-pointers, and they are really no better than middle-of-the-pack when it comes to that. And maybe that drought for them in San Antonio, which is now up to seven years, does indeed count for something. Actually, the Spurs, who lead the league in three-point percentage, has more upside in that area. We're going to stick with the experience at the AT&T Center.
